Sans wasn’t a deep sleeper. Grillby had been told this by Papyrus many a time, once the taller brother had realized just how often Sans had started sleeping at Grillby’s bar. The fact was a bit contradictory to the way the skeleton was always out cold even during the loudest, busiest rushes. Papyrus had let the flame know, when Grillby asked on one of his many trips to pick up his sleeping brother, that while he didn’t sleep deeply, he was still lazy, and would just lay as if still sleeping, “PROBABLY IN THE HOPES OF FALLING ASLEEP! THAT’D BE A VERY ‘SANS’ THING TO DO.” Grillby had agreed; Sans did in fact do that, sometimes more obvious than others.
After a particularly restless nap, Grillby offers Sans to go upstairs and rest. Sans accepts gratefully.
