He felt like he had swallowed a stone, searching for any answer he could. Jimmy grimaced, just slightly, which was enough for Karl’s heart to drop.
“We decided,” Jimmy said slowly, “that the best way to secure an alliance would be through marriage. Sam has a son, Quackity, who will gain the throne after Sam, so he’s the best choice. As for our court, you are the only one of us who is suited for the job.”

Summary
Tommy has grown up with a healthy fear of the things in the woods - creatures that slink out to kidnap small children, monsters that look human with teeth too sharp. And the unfortunate truth: he is good at spotting them. Very good.
When some faeries attack him in the woods, he is whisked away to their world and is left completely at the mercy of the high fae and their whims. To survive, he must be smart, quick-thinking, and worst of all, polite. But when one of them takes more than a passing interest in him, flying under their radar will no longer cut it, and he isn't sure he's ready to find out how far he's willing to go to survive.
AKA: my faery au where fae sbi kidnap human Tommy, and then bad things keep happening. poor tommy.

Phil has lived a life of fear and hate. Of course he was never the hateful one, and he was rarely scared. But all seemed to hate and fear him. Everyone looked at him and pointed at his glowing red eyes and pointed fangs, and assumed the worst. They never got to know him. And blamed him for simply trying to survive. And they had always been scared, until that fear turned into something aggressive. And suddenly, people like him, people deemed as 'monsters' were being hunted. Being hunted and killed and studied and hurt. And something seemed to snap, and Phil got tired of it.
The Esempii household was created for all the monsters out there in danger. They could come to Phil, and Phil would give them a place to stay, to live, to hide until they felt safe. They would live there until they felt safe, or had learned how to protect themselves, and then be off. And Phil was fine with that.Until one day, a human, barely ten, found his way to Phil's home. He was hurt, chased from his town, as his mother was a vampire, and they presumed the kid as well. And Phil learned that children would not know to come to him, and would always need help, more than any adult.
And some weird sort of foster home was set up. -
