They had a penchant for this sort of banter, teetering on a will-they, won't-they, flirtatious but at the same time bitchy exchange about them. Their repartee was as familiar as it was exhausting, a well-worn dance of barbs that allowed them to blow off steam while maintaining the facade of decorum befitting their status. Fuegoleon's chuckle was low and brief, but it held a note of genuine amusement. "Your sharp tongue does little to mask the fact that you look like death warmed over, Nozel."

The smell of Leo’s blood being the first thing Asta thinks about when he wakes up, when he goes to sleep… That smell is the first thing he notices whenever Leo is around. It was unlike any other blood he had ever smelled… He could practically hear Leo’s heart beating in his chest… Leopold was so alive… So kind and understanding, it’s not surprising why many people like him so much. He’s like a ray of sunshine ironically enough. If Asta didn’t have his daylight ring, he’s sure he’d burn in Leo’s presence.
Something just made Asta wanna sink his teeth into his flesh. His desire for Leo’s blood scares him. It scares him in a way he hasn’t felt in a long time. He’d never want to harm Leo in any way. He has the purest heart of anyone he’s ever met. Asta doesn’t want to harm anyone. Never again.
On his way home, he felt the eerie feeling of being watched… but the sense was familiar enough to give him a sense of comfort as well.
Leopold made it home safely that night.

Fuegoleon used to have a friend, a friend he knew since before Leopold was even born. Fuegoleon’s friend decides to visit, he claims for his mother’s birthday. Fuegoleon is pleasantly pleased with his visit, however Leo’s always found his eyes creepy. Fuegoleon assured him that his friend is a good man, so he’s probably just being dramatic, right?

“I give up.”
For a long moment, Mereoleona didn’t know what to say. “You’re… giving up? Is that really the way of House Vermillion?” Mereoleona tries to argue. Leopold shrugs without a care and continues his way home.
“Leo, are you alright?” Fuegoleon asks Leo, concern written all over.
“Mhm.” Leopold hums, not bothering to look up. Leo makes his way down the mountain.
Fuegoleon turns to Mereoleona. “What’s wrong with him?” He asks her. She’s still for a few moments and lets out a sigh.
“He said he… gives up.”
Fuegoleon raises an eyebrow. “He what…?” Fuegoleon questions as he darts his eyes over to Leo who walked down the mountain with dull eyes… without a care in the world.

After saying his farewells to Mimosa. The boy walked into his room and closed the door behind him then dragged his feet towards his bed and collapsed right onto it and melted into the soft material.
It felt nice to finally just rip off the mask and rest in the pool of all that pain and stress. He didn’t want to ignore everything he’s been going through. He wanted to soak it all in and accept it. He didn’t want to talk about it and let it all out. He wanted to praised on how well he handled everything.
Leopold rested his eyes and let a few tears slip out.
