As for Jim Gordon, well, he prides himself on being a simple kind of man, resourceful and intelligent and stubborn enough where it counts. He thinks he’s goddamn courageous to have ventured out into deep waters with Bruce to pursue what Gordon had long ago accepted was simply not possible for a man like him, so he’s not quite ready to admit that quite frankly, he’s woefully out of his depths where Bruce is concerned.
