Summary
Martyn's boots crunch against leaves and gravel as he approaches the house, the small flyer clutched in one hand. It looks like any other old house, albeit tinged with the same eeriness that plagues this area. The windows are dirty, and the highest window, which Martyn can only assume is the attic, is boarded over. The eaves slope in odd places, and the front step creaks loudly as Martyn steps up to the door.
This house, he notices, boasts yet another willow, tall and looming over the house’s back windows. It, too, has lost most of its leaves, its branches abandoned to sway in the wind, creaking and scratching against each other and the wall.
The willow isn't the only sound. Martyn can hear another odd noise, but he can't for the life of him place what it's supposed to be. It sounds kind of like something wailing on the wind... is that the beast the flyer was for?
Or, Martyn takes a job to slay a beast trapped within a family's attic.

Summary
Ren is a long-forgotten God; his great City of Dogwarts is wild and overgrown, the walls have crumbled. But he still remains, a reminder of the once-great reign of the Gods. Only a few of his Parthenon linger, and of those several of them are vanishing.
One day, he receives a message from the Goddess of travelers, Symmetry, that the Godhunter has slain his once-close friend Doctor M and is now coming for him. Ren, despite all that he is at the end of his rope, knows that he cannot die- for if he does, Dogwarts and all of its ghosts will crumble to the sea.
The Red King’s day of reckoning has come, and he’s going to fight.[rated as major character death because much of Ren’s friends/court were human and have since died. They, uh, might not stay like that.]

Only twice in his life has Martyn seen his god's true form. Both times have seen Martyn on his knees and bleeding, his god free only out of violent desperation. To see him a third time is no less impressive, no less breathtaking, but it’s not often his god can stand tall when there’s no danger. To see him casually is the most striking part of all.

Even a stone tool, once enchanted, can heft a heavy price if sold to the right person. Martyn’s own armor might not be particularly spectacular or expensive without magic, but with it… well, suffice to say, if Martyn weren’t quite so sentimental, he’d probably be rich.
