Summary
Deacon crouched again, brushing hair back from her face, tucking strands carefully behind her ear. His hand lingered on her cheek, grounding her as she looked bleary eyed past his shoulder. “Okay, listen.” He sighed, “I’m gonna pull it out. You’re gonna curse at me. Then I’ll clean it, maybe stitch it. Easy.”
“Nope.” Her protest was weak but stubborn. “No needles. No thread.”
“Wanderer-”
“Nuh-uh,” she interrupted, attempting to sit. He gently held her down, hand on her shoulder. The familiar motion, done countless times, began to irritate her. “S’not that bad. You’re not puttin’ a needle or thread anywhere near me.”
“You need them.” His tone shifted, firmer. His hand slid down to steady her leg, his thumb circling the glass. “Promise it won’t be so bad.”
“Easy for you to say,” she muttered, eyes squeezing shut. “If I dragged you up a building, made you cross a cutty bridge, you’d be stressed out to the point youd be–”Series

Summary
“Come back sooner rather than later,” Dez said. It was more of a tired request than a firm instruction. Another pang of guilt ran through Deacon. He wished she could rest. He patted her shoulder as he passed her.
“Will do, boss. Gonna check up on the Slog and a few others.” It wasn’t a lie. He would check on the Slog and a few others. It was just that ‘a few others’ included the vault girl. Desdemona nodded and took a drag from her cigarette. Deacon watched her shoulders relax just a bit. From his response or the cig, he didn’t know.

Summary
He starts up Project Wanderer on a whim. With no leads and the Institute already on their heels, he has no time, and really no place, to keep the damn project going. He’d hoped it’d bear fruit - or, at least, a walking, talking chance for the Railroad. He wasn’t prepared for the major amounts of cardio he would pick up after it panned out.
(Or the heartache. But he won’t talk about that)

He lies with words. She lies by omission. He's charm and concealment, she's intellect and investigation. A story with Deacon/Sole Survivor romance in Fallout 4, tracking through the main questline, with some detours to side quests, and a story of two broken people falling in love.

Summary
Magnolia had a soft rasp to her voice that enraptured Charlie every time she heard the woman speak. And now, with the growing amount of liquor, she didn’t clock how rude it must have been that she practically swiveled around to gawk at the performer as she approached the stage.
“I knew you weren’t listening but do you gotta make it so obvious?” Deacon nudged her again and she let her body rock to the side with the movement.
She looked back toward her friends, the tips of her ears burning. “M’sorry. Just think Mags has a pretty voice is all.”(The HQ gang goes for drinks, dancing & a tender moment ensues)

Summary
Nate Cooper, Sole Survivor of Vault 111, just wants to find his son. Unfortunately for him there's so much he has to do to save the Commonwealth first.
-------
This fic was born from my desire to impart a real timeline to the events of the game. We all know it doesn't really matter what order you complete quests in, but that's just not realistic. I did have to mess around with canon in order to make it more realistic, but the main plot of the story is still intact. I also changed a lot of the dialog because I loathe re-reading game dialog that i can practically quote. I did keep some, but I change about 80% of it.
(I also am maybe just a little in love with Deacon so this is a self-indulgent fic.)
This is not the first fan-fiction that I have written, but it is the first one that I've posted so please take it easy on me. I am completely and totally obsessed with Fallout so this is my attempt to channel some of that obsession into something more productive.
Special thanks to my beta Stoleneyes618, without their support this fic probably would never have been posted.

Summary
Hindsight is a bitch.
This is one of the few things Deacon could truthfully say he was absolutely certain of. There’s always a better decision you could have made. A better road fate could have taken you on if only you knew that one decision would blow up in your face. And of course, you could only see the glaringly obvious problems you created after you could do nothing about it. Nothing but throw yourself a nice, little pity party and be mildly impressed by your own stupidity.
For instance, in hindsight perhaps he shouldn’t have wiped his memories after escaping the Institute.
In hindsight, he should have shot Cole dead the moment she stepped out of that Vault. He shouldn't have vouched for a perfect stranger just because he'd done a little bit of spying and had a soft spot for Vault Dwellers.
In hindsight, it should have been obvious if anyone in the Wasteland was forced to re-live the same year over and over, it would have been him. His luck had always been terrible like that.

Summary
After 'The Outcast Incident’ of 2279, The Lone Wanderer disappears. Some people believe he died, some think he went on to ‘fight the good fight’ somewhere else, others still, wonder if The Lone Wanderer ever existed at all. Like most things, the truth is somewhere in between.
When Deacon arrives in the Commonwealth in 2282, he firmly believes he's given up his mantle of 'The Lone Wanderer' and wants nothing to do with his old life. He's content to lend his aid to The Railroad and through them, the people of the 'Wealth. However, as the years draw closer and closer to that fateful 2287 and the turmoil of the Commonwealth becomes impossible to avoid, Deacon will reluctantly realize that The Lone Wanderer isn't a piece of himself that he can shove in a box and ignore.
It's who he is; above all else.
