    Summary

The reason they compare Hobbits to rabbits is because most of them are rabbits! With the exception of the Took family, which is made up of coyotes, all Hobbits are born with the ears and tail of an animal, and when they grow up they can transform into that animal. And obviously it was a big surprise that when Bilbo Baggins was born, he had the ears and tail of a wolf, at least they thought he was a wolf, and at the age of 6 Bilbo turned into a Warg for the first time. And that changed his life, he lived in the Shire, but he was shunned and feared, and little by little he died of loneliness. Until he saved Thorin from entering the Old Forest, and found out about the quest. Feeling alive again, he embarked on an adventure and found his companion in Thorin.

    Summary

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy." - Hamlet

The history of Middle Earth is long, stretching back many ages, to even a time before the sun and the moon graced the sky. In the long years, much has happened and much as been lost, even a whole race. The Cementumenosse, in the common tongue, 'the wielders of earth'. Are naught but legend, even among their kin, the Elves. However, their history, and especially, one of their number, will have a marked effect on the world. It could be for good or it could be for evil, for all of the Cementumenosse are Darkness Marked. The pain of their history etched into their very soul.

    Summary

    Continuation of A Bounder's Memory

When Bilbo was young, he dreamed of becoming a Bounder – one of the quiet, watchful guards who kept the borders of the Shire safe from the outside world. He believed it would feed his hunger for adventure, for something more than hearths and gardens. What it gave him instead was blood, fire, and the silence of graves.

He watched his friends fall, homes burn, and the peace of the Shire unravel. In time, he folded away his cloak and buried his blades beneath the floorboards of Bag End, seeking to forget.

So when Gandalf appears with talk of a quest and a company of dwarrow, Bilbo is ready to refuse – until he hears a name he thought was buried. A name that was tied to the ruin of all he had held dear.

With ghosts stirring in his memory and a deep fury rising once more, Bilbo dons his cloak again. Not for the promise of gold or glory, but for one final journey of vengeance. To fulfill his vow.

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins wondered what Gandalf was thinking. Fortunately, the one living under the delusion he was a regular hobbit was NOT him. Oh well, Bag End would sort him out. His house did NOT approve of vandalism, thank you very much. That rune carved into his door learned it personally. Besides, it served the wizard right for not heeding the rumors about Bilbo and the Old Forest.

    Summary

In a land far northwest of Middle-earth, the Shire settled with the greenest hill in all of Arda. The inlands and uphills are inhabited by small creatures called Hobbits. They are peaceful folks, and the other people of Middle-earth have known them for the peace and bliss they have lived in for hundreds of years.

Hobbits are not fighters. They are healers, crafters, caregivers, gardeners, cooks, and more and are not suited for impromptu frontline combat like the rest of the races of Middle-earth. They are simple creatures with simple desires in life. Change has been long unwelcome in the Shire, for they believe that things don't need to change and things are perfect the way they are and have been for hundreds of years. Shire folks strive to achieve peace. Peace makes things simple.

And yet an ancient whisper travels the wind. A tale foretold that when the fatherlands are in need of a helping hand, the once hidden race will come out of their hills and stand forth finally to assist with their gifts and finish what others had failed to do.

What these gifts are, nobody knows. Not yet at least.

But it is close to knowing. So close indeed.

Frodo and the others returned to the lands they had left to protect; they returned home. But home was no longer how they had left it. Darkness had invaded, and it was time for all hobbits to rise up and take it back. Frodo just wished it had never been necessary.

    Summary

All is not well in the Shire.

    Perhaps it never had been.

After uncovering a disturbingly common darkness rotting under the surface in the Shire, Bilbo Baggins is called upon once more to travel to the Lonely Mountain. This time he's leading instead of following, and there's many many more than 14 in his caravan.

Taking so many hobbits on such a treacherous journey is stressful enough, but there is the reunion with his dwarrow to consider as well. Including the three that aren't as dead as he thought.

    Summary

Captured by orcs during the Fell Winter, Briar Baggins has spent years disguising herself as a simple hobbit lad named Bilbo. Frerin had been captured during the battle of Azanulbizar, not killed as his kin believed. Thrown together in the harshest of conditions, they had managed to become a family. So when the chance finally came to escape, they took it with both hands.

However, even though they are free, they are soon drawn into something much larger than just themselves. The impossible task of reclaiming Erebor.

Will the quest be successful or is it doomed from the start? They need a home, but possibly much more will be found along the way, family and maybe even love.

    Summary

"And that’s what they were, really – gifts. Gifts for those who had seen enough, for those who had acted the unwilling witness to true evil, and who had survived.
    Oh, how wrong they were."

Or: Middle Earth's water supply is infected by the One Ring remaining in it for so long, giving everyone supernatural abilities. What follows is disaster at the One Ring's removal, a dragon living under the Lonely Mountain, dwarves who really don't know as much as they think, and one hobbit's very interesting, and very dangerous, ability.

This is my first ever fic! Updates whenever I've finished writing them. Tags to be added, and the rating is unlikely to change.

    Summary

Kara is at the end of her nursing shift when a violent man is brought in with an arrow wound. When he spits blood on her, Kara is transported elsewhere. Soon she's doing emergency wound care on book characters and trying not to lose it. She can't watch people suffer even if it isn't real, but Aragorn is very suspicious of a woman who tells no clear story and smells like an orc.

“Stranger things have happened than you or I have years to tell of it," Gandalf said. "Why does she unsettle you? Surely you do not feel threatened. I am tolerably certain you could defeat her if it came to violence.”
Aragorn scoffed at his gentle humor. “I’m glad to amuse you. There are more dangers than warriors and swords. Need I tell a wizard that?"
“I can assure you she is not evil and has not a whisper of magic.”
“Yet a beautiful woman appears directly in our path, leagues from civilization, and immediately gains the hobbits’ trust. No wizardry, you say?”
Kara was not *unhappy* at being called a beautiful woman (although his standards for human women, as opposed to elves, were probably low), but she was unhappy to be stuck eavesdropping. She’d seen this scene too many times in movies. They would definitely see her.

    Summary

Bilbo Baggins is much more competent than any of these 13 dwarrow know, much more so than even Gandalf knows. When Gandalf explains the quest these dwarrow are going on, Bilbo knows that they will absolutely muck it up. Someone needs to watch out for them, and if a Hobbit needs to be the babysitter than so be it!

None of the dwarrow know just how capable this Hobbit is when they leave his door, and they’ve barely begun their journey and Bilbo’s already proven his worth just a few days in! Who knew such a small creature could hold so much knowledge?

Even Thorin Oakenshield was grudgingly impressed.

None of them need to know that Bilbo is babysitting them, and if he grows to love them all as family (and maybe a couple as something else) than that’s nobody’s business but his own!

I got caught in the 'if you want to read it, you have to write it' and we'll see how it goes. Largely I am attempting to create a somewhat cohesive story that encompasses every bagginshield trope I care about. So if you like sassy bilbo, with smoopy angsty near sighted thorin, hobbits under the mountain and everyone shipping tjem then read it. I do not own anything related to the hobbit, tolkien works or peter jackson blah blah blah copywrite, rights reserved, blah.

“It sounds to me, Thorin son of Thrain, like you need a burglar.” Gandalf suppressed the grin that threatened to overtake his face.

“I suppose you have one you’d like to recommend.” The King raised a brow.

“There is one who has done a great many tasks for me over the years.” Gandalf thought of how best to introduce her. “A Hobbit. One with much experience with these kinds of tasks.”

    The King hummed confirmation.

Now Gandalf just had to go find the blasted girl.

Bilbo Baggins has enough on his plate. He does NOT, I repeat not, need one of the Wizards showing up. He most certainly does not need The Company, and he does not need Thorin- oh. Oh my. Well, maybe he does need Thorin Oakensheild. Yes. Perhaps with a few less clothes? Ohh yes...

The one in which Bilbo belongs to a gang, and said gang goes tearing off across Middle Earth with The infamous Company and a meddling Wizard.

    Summary

The halls of Rivendell echoed with the lively chatter of Dwarves, a stark contrast to the usual elven quietude. Willa Softfoot tried to keep to the edges of the room, her gaze flickering between the elegant arches and the Company, who were unabashedly filling the space with laughter and boasts.

“_ Look who’s trying to hide.”; A familiar voice murmured by her ear. Willa jumped, then turned, looking up to find Kíli grinning down at her, his eyes dancing with amusement.

“_ Oh, I’m not hiding.”; She replied quickly, crossing her arms in an attempt at confidence. “ Merely… appreciating the architecture.”

“_ Ah, so you’re a scholar now?”; Kíli teased, raising an eyebrow as he leaned in closer. His curly hair fell slightly over one shoulder, framing his face, and Willa had to force herself not to stare.

“_ Yes, I am.”; She replied, her chin lifting defiantly. “ Elrond explained the carvings on that pillar earlier, and I happen to remember all of it.”

‘At the beginning of their quest, Dwalin had no idea what to make of their burglar. She was a small, sweet thing and while undeniably beautiful, Dwalin was uncertain how she was meant to be an asset to their company rather than a liability.’

Dwalin’s feelings for Bilba grow from protectiveness, to admiration, to love. Plus throw in some ‘Hair is sacred to dwarves’ because that’s always delicious.
