He’s thought about it hundreds of times, he’s imagined so many different versions he can’t tell one from another. And yet, the one thing they have in common is this: their getting on the Revenge, finding the rest of the crew working swiftly, maybe following a song Frenchie’s playing. The reunion, everyone freezing and staring and not knowing what to do, what to say. And Ed, his Ed, bleary-eyed and tough and yet melting with every word that comes out of Stede’s mouth, stepping towards him slowly, inch by inch, until they’re so close they could – they do – kiss.
What he finds on the Revenge has little to do with the hundreds of scenarios he’d been running in his head. Even the more implausible ones.
For one, Ed isn’t even there.(Or, the Big Damn Reunion doesn't exactly go as expected. )

Izzy flinches back, he can't help it.
“No, of course not.” He needs to try harder. He can't give up now, not after just one attempt. “But they can't be punished for my sins. It's me you should punish. Please, Edward. I'll do anything. Please.” He begs.
Ed laughs in his face. Izzy winces.
“Anything?” He asks, suddenly interested.
Izzy doesn't let himself ponder on just how dangerous this game is.
“Anything.” He confirms. “Please. I'll do anything to be forgiven.” Anything to save the crew - his crew. -

Izzy doesn't remember deciding to drug both glasses of rum, one more heavily than the other. He watches himself do it with the same resigned detachment that he watched himself offer up his flesh for amputation. It just seems like the thing to do, given the circumstances.
Between seasons 1&2, Izzy encounters the emotions and desires that he’s tried to deny in a moment of peace amid the horrors.
The dove is dead. Things are going badly, and seem likely to get worse. I love both of these characters, but they cannot be mistaken for good people here. This is porn with a rather long prologue, the fucking starts about half way through.

Izzy took another, larger gulp of wine, and let it set into his stomach before he ventured, “Am I…being seduced?”
“Would you like to be?”
“He’s…” Izzy searched for a satisfactory way to define the unit of Edward-and-Stede that had formed in the whirlwind months since the once-and-for-all banishment of the Kraken. Finding all options deeply lacking, Izzy settled on, “Yours.”
Edward showed his teeth, an easy and sly expression, and leaned very far forward to whisper, “And you’re mine.”
“Still?”
“Mm.” Edward pulled away. His eyes, some of that deep sadness creeping into them again, swept briefly down to the horsey-leg. “If you still want.”Izzy lets himself succumb to the wiles of Stede Bonnet, and in the process receives a lesson in the art of loving Edward Teach.

And maybe fix a few things as he goes, that's if the nightmares of the other him's last few months alive don't break him first.

There are other things it’s hard not to notice. The shift of Ed’s muscles beneath his bare skin. The way his brow furrows at the sting of the needle. At one point, Izzy needs to brace himself to put a mark to the left of Ed’s spine. He stares at Ed’s leather-clad lower half in a panic for a moment, before resting his hand on the back of Ed’s upper thigh. Izzy grits his teeth and vows to stay professional, to focus only on what his right hand is doing with the needle, but he knows that when he’s back in his bed tonight his left hand will be tingling with the memory of how warm and strong Ed feels through the fabric.
This isn’t a punishment. It’s torture.

The infection had gone too far, been left to fester too long with no care and no rest. His fault. It was Edward’s fault, and so he would fix it, would hurt Izzy this final time, to save him.
Izzy's wounded foot gets infected, and the only hope of saving his life is to cut it off. But Izzy is too far gone from the pain and the fever to hear any explanations, and he doesn't understand why Edward wants to hurt him again.
