Summary
Set in an alternate universe where Gaz and Soap never joined Task Force 141. Gaz, Soap, and Roach grew up together in a rural, serene town of the UK. As they grew, Roach mysteriously became estranged from the group– leaving Soap and Gaz to move into a flat together after graduating high school.
However, Soap has just left to move in with his boyfriend Ghost, leaving Gaz alone in an unfamiliar town. With no family or friends in his vicinity, and in a desperate endeavor to earn a source of income, Gaz takes a job as an exterminator. It might be a filthy job, but it pays his bills.
On one job, Gaz is contacted about a large-scale infestation. Supplies are invaded and food is rapidly depleting. Entering the house, Gaz discovers that the pest is not a nest of roaches, but is instead his old mate: Roach.
A badly wounded and anxious Roach, at that. Gaz is elated to see his friend again (even if under perplexing circumstances); however, Roach is frantic to withdraw from Gaz’s company. Gaz, still bearing vehement feelings for his childhood friend and crush, stubbornly provides Roach shelter in his flat. It’s throughout this time that he learns where his friend has been all along.

“I can’t let you die,” he said finally. “You have something of mine.”
Soap arched a brow. “Aye? And what’s that, then?”
