The rest of the Avengers follow in vastly different ways, but he quickly realises that he didn't need to worry. If anything, they just got more protective of him then they already had been. He will always be their Peter, their Spidey.

And suddenly the noises were back. Too loud. He forced a step towards her. Then another. His body was stiff, his fist closed so tight his knuckles were turning white.
He kneeled in front of her. Her head moved to watch him. He placed his hands around her shoulders. He was shaking. Why was he shaking? This was just a mission. Why couldn’t he do this?
He pressed her shoulder harder, squeezing her lungs together. She was so small. So very small.
“Don’t ya fucking dare, ya monster!” The red one yelled.
She yelped.
