(Just kidding, of course he does. You can read this safe in the knowledge that while I will actually rip out your heart and stomp on it, I will put it back exactly where it was when I am done stomping.)
Title from Iron Maiden song 'Out Of The Shadows', it just fit. It might be ridiculously on the nose considering what actually happens in the fic, but you will find it out when you read it, no sooner.
The suicidal thoughts may be overtagged, but the poor guy actually does try to talk Mac into taking his head, although that's because that's what he thinks Mac wants. -

This is a mix of tragedy and horror, with the love thrown in purely for the tragedy.

But he never thought he’d need a journal for a war he wasn’t even trying to be part of—the Quirk War, a global mess he fully intended to avoid.
And yet here he is: stitching wounds, dodging politics, getting kidnapped, causing explosions (accidentally or otherwise), and watching the world reinvent itself.
