Summary
Instead of his Vision forming in the moments before Diluc strikes him down, Kaeya dies at the hands of his brother as their father's body bleeds between them. The archons pity the boy burdened with the hope of a fallen nation and they allow him to live again. Kaeya, ashamed and regretful, flees to someplace humanity will never find him in hopes that he can peacefully live out the rest of his second life. That is until a certain unlucky adventurer unknowingly stumbles upon him. He sees a part of his former self in Bennett and he ruefully helps the boy, whether that be through swordsmanship training or relationship advice. And maybe, just maybe, Kaeya's heart will learn to reopen itself to a world of beautiful people and experiences he died too young to witness. Bennett might just be the right person to help him heal.
Or, in which Kaeya befriends Bennett and they become something like brothers, a bond neither of them have had the pleasure of feeling in quite some time.
