James came from a household where food wasn’t just a way to sustain life but a sign of love. He cooked because that was his way of showing he cared. Food, no matter what kind, had always been a way to show appreciation, apologize, say something no words could ever describe, so looking down and seeing an almost empty bag of dried berries, old ramen noodles and a water bottle made James tear up.
Regulus had a rather shitty week and everything just got too much. Him being Regulus, he lashed out on James for somehing minor.

James leans his hip against the table, his arms crossed. She can feel his gaze on her, his gold-framed glasses glinting in the candlelight, and she tears her eyes from Regulus, who looks at James with the same admiration that had previously coloured her own face.
The very sight of her fellow Gryffindor has her choke down the need to cry and scream. She’s envious, yes, she’s accepted as much, but she is also angry at his blatant ignorance of Regulus. How could he sit there, in the light of his love, and not turn to welcome it?
As heartbroken as she would be, Lily thinks she’d be happy if James were to turn and give the same look he’s giving her now to Regulus, just to see his face light up in the way that only James can manage.---

Bellatrix is 6 years older than SiriusPS: In the beginning Sirius does not know English and I am not fluent in French so I am using google translator. Please point out any mistakes so I can fix them. Also note the tags for some concepts in the book could be triggering for you. I also think that JKR just hated Sirius so I am going to try and redeem his character.
