After her father is slain by the demon bear Mor'du, Merida and her mother find themselves at the mercy of the lords. Desperate to re-write history and save Fergus from his demise, Merida seeks out the witch of the wood and asks for a spell that will send her back in time to stop Mor'du and the tragic events that transpired.
But magic is nothing if not fickle.
Merida is thrown hundreds of years in the past, in the ancient Scottish Highlands of old, and into the middle of a feud between four princes. Here, she comes face to face with the demon bear when he is still but a prideful, arrogant man. If she can stop him, if she can kill him before he becomes the beast, she can save her father-- and change her fate.

Living in the Kingdom of Lumos, they make up a family unit, with Yen as the dad, the boys as the older (but not quite wiser) brothers, and Scout and Golden as the littl(er) sisters. Many more family members join them as the series goes on, and they uncover many mysteries about themselves and the world around them, including those surrounding an old witch trapped in a locket, a mystery about a great moon named Kingdom Hearts, and even mysteries within Yen Sid's own family and past. Playing on the trope of found family, the story tackles many themes, such as self-esteem, romance (here and there), and finding where you truly belong, and also has a great number of intense battle scenes and moments of surprise and intrigue...

Summary
Merida once made a unconcious deal with the strange lord of the under-land, a young man with hands and feets covered with frost : to take her brothers away for just some hours of freedom. But wishes are dangerous in the world of those we call the Folk. After a night spend in the goblin king's sidh, she finally managed to find her way throught the labyrinth, unknowingly winning a game set hundreds of years ago.
From then, fae creatures knock on her door, expecting from her things she did not quite understand. While she had always refused to follow them again, things changes the day her path cross the one of Hiccup Haddock, member of a long dynasty of supernatural's hunters.
Stakes are way highter that since her first descent and she is the only one who know the way, but she is not alone this time. With a fearless hunter, a devoted winter spirit and her mysterious new roomate who always refused to talk about her past by her side, maybe she can face the Folk's trials.
