Summary
Despite all the students rushing past him into the school building, William stood still like a pebble in a stream, parting the trickle of students. Today was a normal day for all of them. Not for William— today was the morning of April 16th, the day that he was going to kill himself.

David answers the phone as he picks up his checkbook. He knows how these calls go by now.
“Hello, dad, mom…” he cringes a little when he says mom. He reminds himself it's not worth an argument tonight. He wants a peaceful night.
“Dave? Have you seen your brother recently? Talked to him, gotten any calls?” his father answers
David pauses midway through filling out his fathers name. “No? The last time we spoke, it was Christmas.”
“It's been a week. His… club. Say he hasn't been with them.”
