It was strange, Nicholas thought as he walked to the dining hall, that the room should seem so quiet without Seiji there, when Seiji had never been particularly loud to begin with. And for some reason, the room felt smaller without its other occupant, instead of more spacious as Nicholas had expected it to feel.
The summer between their freshman and sophomore years, Nicholas stays at Kings Row, while Seiji goes home. They keep in touch through frequent text messages.
