Summary
Kunikida fiddles with the fabric. It’s mostly smooth, but the area at the palm is rough to provide extra grip. She slides them on, and immediately, the gloves hug her hands, squeezing. It’s not painful or distracting, just a sort of comforting warmth, like someone is holding her hand and massaging it constantly.
Not only does it take away the pain, it also steadies her hands, keeping her trembling fingers in place. The glove reaches all the way down to her wrists where she struggles to control the most.
It’s… amazing. He can’t believe he didn’t think of this solution himself.

Summary
Chuuya wants to hate how much brighter Dazai’s eyes shine now. They want to hate that his smiles are more often genuine, that his skin is healthier and he’s put on weight, that his suicide attempts have steadily declined in both frequency and severity. They want to hate this new Dazai, because he slaughtered the boy Chuuya fell in love with and now wears his skin as a trophy.
They want to. But they don’t.
Because this Dazai laughs in the passenger seat when Kunikida recounts what he missed at the office while out on a case. This Dazai does not sink into himself after experiencing intimacy. This Dazai subconsciously leans towards Kunikida, tucks a strand of hair behind his ear, and stops himself mid-sentence to point out the next turn so Kunikida won’t miss it.

Dazai considers this. He does rather enjoy annoying his coworkers—Kunikida especially. And no one in the office will be more perturbed by Dazai and Ranpo suddenly being an obnoxious couple. It’ll make Atsushi squirm. Sigma and Tanizaki will try to hide their discomfort until it eventually turns to annoyance, which will be hilarious. Naomi will just laugh at everyone.
Plus it’ll catch Chuuya so far off guard they won’t even know what hit them. It’s the perfect plan.
“Okay,” Dazai agrees. “Let’s do it.”

Kenji doesn’t realize he’s swaying until he registers a shout from Jun’ichiro, and then there’s a hand on his back.
He jolts, abruptly tuning back into the world around him. “…okay?” Jun’ichiro is saying. “Kenji-kun?”
“Mm?” Kenji hums. His brain is too fuzzy to voice any more than that.
Jun’ichiro’s frown deepens. He presses the back of his hand to Kenji’s forehead. His cool touch is a relief, and Kenji’s eyes slip shut at the sensation. He really is so tired, like he’s just finished eating a big meal. A nap does sound really good.

Summary
Dazai slumps. “Chuuya’s ignoring me,” he admits. He doesn’t say any more, because that truth alone is risky enough. If he continues speaking, he’ll end up admitting how much it hurts that Chuuya won’t talk to him, how he misses Chuuya, how he just wishes he knew what he did wrong. How he hates Chuuya so vehemently it burns his chest, but the fear that Chuuya might hate him in return splinters each of his ribs and sinks a knife deep into his heart.
Dazai cannot fall victim to a direct attack from Chuuya’s ability, but he imagines this is what it feels like to have his weight pulled downward, crumpling beneath the unseen pressure of For the Tainted Sorrow until it’s stolen all the oxygen from his lungs and finally granted him the sweet release of death he so longs for.
“Ah,” Ango says, and then he drains the rest of his drink.
