Summary
Rook was mistreated by the Crows when they were young by the hands of the Dellamorte family. Several years later, they were the one to save Lucanis from his prison.
Their history seems to cause Spite to repel Rook, but, after some long overdue talks of their pasts, Rook and Lucanis would grow closer than they expected.

Summary
"So, I heard you went shopping,” Teia said, a note of teasing in her tone.
Viago shot her a look. “What?”
“You bought a child,” she said. “I thought you didn’t approve of slavery.”
Ah, that. Of course Teia had heard. “House Calveri was wasting her talents,” he demurred. “And she’s not a slave any longer, she’s a fledgling. Just like the others.”

Summary
Rook is a grade A bolter, you can ask anyone in the Veilguard. But when Lucanis pulls away from their almost kiss first, Rook spirals in a very real way over and over again. Things get worse before they get better. And sometimes other people get hurt in the crossfire, especially when a demon shoves themselves in the middle.
Alternatively, Rook is a crow, and everyone knows Crows will try to escape combat to live another day. Even if combat is a conversation about your feelings. And who doesn't love it when Spite pops in to solve all of Lucanis's relationship problems?

Summary
Eight months after his apparent death, Lucanis was rescued from the Ossuary, and returned to House Dellamorte with new scars across his mind and body. However, with rumours abound concerning the First Talon and her abomination of an heir, a succession crisis brews within the Antivan Crows. When an attempt is made on Caterina's life, she seeks to clean up House Dellamorte's reputation, and reaches out to House de Riva in search of allies.
Together, she and Viago arrange a deal: an alliance between their houses, through marriage.
Trusting no one else with this task, Viago calls for the wayward Kallen de Riva, interrupting his search for the Dread Wolf. Forced to return home, Kallen must navigate the delicate world of Crow politics, all the while growing closer to the mysterious heir to the First Talon and his demonic passenger.

Summary
The first-night vigil is a Nevarran tradition, and a very, very old one. When people die, the soul can cling stubbornly to the body. So someone needs to sit with them on that first night - the first of many, many long nights ahead - and make sure the crossing-over is gentle and quiet.
Or: a young Watcher-to-be is old enough to be entrusted with a simple task by their caretaker.

Echoes of the fade start whispering in their head, calling their name. Their accusatory tone curls almost mockingly, cooing at Aurelio. Telling the elf it is entirely their fault. Everything that went wrong did so because of them. Everyone that died did so because of them. They trusted Aurelio to save them, to finish the job as a crow should, and they were let down.
