Summary
King Aerys II was no madman, but a man of calculation, a king who understood that power was a blade to be wielded with precision.
His forebears had ruled with fire and blood, but the dragons were gone. Without them, Targaryens needed a different strategy. Strength alone would not keep the throne secure—marriage alliances would. Two of his three children were now spoken for, their futures dictated by the crown’s needs.
His heir, Rhaegar, would be wed on the morrow to Cersei Lannister, the only daughter of his Hand, Lord Tywin. His middle child, Shaena, was promised to the heir of Lord Rickard Stark, a bond meant to keep the North loyal.
A pre-ASOIAF AU, where King Aerys was not mad and his daughter Shaena wasn't stillborn.

Summary
The North is home to many creatures, monsters, horrors that belong in tall tales. The South is unaware of the North's true nature, and it is kept a secret for a reason. The old gods have a much stronger presence and they hold more power in the North's frosty lands, than the South is led to believe.
Wolves larger than warhorses with the ability to command winter that howl in the moonlight, figures cloaked in shadows that steal you in the middle of the night to drain you dry of your lifeblood, giant men who's roars shake the mountains, sirens who will trap you in their spells and steal your treasures, wispy silhouettes who lead you to your death should you enter their lands, demon bears who will rip you to shreds should you explore the trees at night, grey-skinned men who can steal your souls with a single touch, and towering, skeletal figures with unsettling disjointed limbs that will steal your flesh to wear as their own
That is the truth of the North, and should the South ever discover any of it, may the old gods and the new have mercy toward all.

Summary
History was meant to end at the Tower of Joy. Ned Stark rode south in grief and fury, chasing ghosts and honor, but the Kingsguard did not fall that day. Lyanna Stark did not die. And a new King was born Jaehaerys Targaryen, heir to a ruined dynasty. With his first breath, long-forgotten dragon eggs stirred, and fire returned to the world.

The story where a dwarf gets a crown, the "Gendry Effect" affects all the remaining Lannisters, Margaery becomes queen, Sansa becomes the Queen, Tommen gets a childhood (and a brother) and there's talk of flowers.
Or: Tyrion kills his father. That same night, Tommen becomes free. Then everything else happens.

"I had a horrible dream," She begins, "The dead were attacking me. They tore down the wall, made their way into Winterfell. They were trying to turn me into one of them," She presses herself deeper against her father's chest, one hand clinging to his shirt.
"It was just a dream," Ned hears the words come out of his mouth but he's not sure he believes them. The man he recently executed said the dead had risen, and they believed him to have lost his mind. But maybe he hadn't. Or maybe he had, and his daughter lost her mind as well.

After avoiding an undesirable betrothal, the Crown Prince is sent to spy on the Starks for the King, who is convinced the Warden of the North plans treachery. Rhaegar finds there is more to the North than endless snow, Lyanna is exhausted by duty in a male-dominated world, while Ned struggles with a conflicted heart and Rickard looks to his legacy.

He's forced to marry young Brienne of Tarth to no leave her destitute and full of rage, he rennounces to the Baratheon name and takes the name Tarth at his wedding.
