' He pulls his tie tight in the mirror, nearly choking himself with the way his fingers shake. He tries again-- once, twice, succeeds on the third try.
Alec shoulders his jacket over everything, all his layers a bit like armour. He glares at his gaunt, pale reflection (it won’t cooperate with him), tries to scrub at the bags under his eyes, then gives up and stands, knees quaking. '

Summary
—Hardy…

Summary
When Danny Latimer's body is found on the beach that July morning, Ryan Coates becomes a convenient suspect: he tutored the boy, he lives alone, and he doesn’t have an alibi.
In a town that doesn't forget, suspicion spreads fast, and DI Hardy has no interest in being gentle about it.
What starts as a murder investigation spirals into something else entirely. Along the way, he’s forced to reckon with everything he’s buried: the town’s lies, the detectives' doubts, and the truth about his own past.A slow-burn, character-driven fic about guilt, grief, and the ways people survive each other.
------------------------
As far as I am aware, you could probably read this without actually ever watching Broadchurch as it is close third person POV and for anything not covered here, that is just put down to Ryan's lack of an omniscient view of the overall case(s) within the show. But don't hold me to that!

Summary
Right in front of him, the lab results declared the truth and Alec placed it on the counter. His hands were shaking but there was something intense and hot in his chest. It gripped his throat and made him feel like he might just cry.
“Alec,” Rose moved like she might come over.
“She’s mine,” Alec breathed it out and handed Rose the paper that proved it, “She’s mine. Thank God.”
“I’m so happy for you!”
Rose looked like she might cry, but her smile was so big. Like she could feel that sudden bursting light that was in his own chest. Alec moved and he wasn’t able to stop himself as he wrapped his arms around Rose and lifted her off the ground in the kitchen. Spinning her they both laughed in some great big victorious triumph.
A Remix of As The Crow Flies where Alec is Daisy's biological father and, against all odds, Alec and Rose still manage. Even if the road is longer.

Summary
The idea that this tiny little blonde who was clearly from Peckham, with the way she drawled and dropped almost all her G’s, could possibly perform superior childcare was appalling. What was the world coming to?
Which meant Alec tended to avoid the nanny. Just to keep the peace. Sure he didn’t exactly hide how very much of a bad idea he thought this whole thing was, but he also didn’t confront that actual child about it. Tyler was a child. Fifteen and barely old enough to think for herself it felt like.
Alec could remember being fifteen, he’d been a little shit head.
Alternatively: Alec Hardy met Rose Tyler and that didn't really change his life too much. Until it did.

Summary
Alec and his broken heart are acting up again. Ellie takes care of him, and Alec learns to take care of someone else. /and/ In the aftermath of all the drama and tragedy, Hardy and Miller manage to repair the holes torn through both their lives. They create, from the rubble, something new and odd and beautiful. Alec takes longer to warm up to the idea, but Ellie gives him no choice in the matter. Their relationship is too developed to call simply partnership, too deep to call simply friendship. They're family, and families support each other.

Summary
Their relationship has always been weird. At first she hated him for taking her job and being consistently the opposite of anything a normal human being was supposed to be. Then, she realised her normal was all wrong and his consistency was at the very least reliable – she still found his inability to open up absolutely infuriating.

Summary
It was common knowledge that five years ago, Ellie Miller and Alec Hardy died shortly after closing Sandbrook for good. But now it seemed they had been found alive, and their story of faked accidents, kidnapping, and torture by a shadowy organization placed not just the two of them but several others directly into the path of vengeance from an organization that did not forgive betrayal. With a mole in the police force, and no way of knowing who an ally or enemy could be, it was merely a question of time when someone would be killed or, worse, recaptured.

Summary
She scrambled to the kitchen, opening doors and slamming them, looking for something to take back with her. The fact that Alec’s appearance had made her so flustered was almost appalling to her. And it was as if he did it on purpose. She saw the smirk.
But wait….
Was he flirting back?!

Summary
He had spent the last five years, catching her when she fell. And in that time, he found a way into her heart, and she into his. The comfort this beautiful and infuriating woman brought him was overwhelming. But he knew he was damaged too, and knew he couldn’t make up for anything she had lost. All he could do was move forward with her, and make sure that everyday was better than the last.
For the first time in his life, he was home.
And if home was wherever Ellie Miller was, he never wanted to leave.

Summary
Bill had run from his problems like a coward, praying that they wouldn't follow as he tried to dig himself up from a pit of his own creation.
Hardy was finally free of the ghost of Sandbrook and his dying heart was on the mend, not expecting that health would leave room for a longing for something he couldn't quite place.
They meet by chance. And then on purpose.
Fate is a funny thing.
(or) wherein two lonely hearts argue their way into a friendship they didn't expect and a love that accepts no excuses.

Summary
“It was about power and control, not sex.” Leo is starting to feel out of control as the investigation advances, and takes it out on one of those he considers a threat. Starts between episodes 6-7 of series 3; semi-canon compliant (as far as possible) until the end of the series, and will probably continue for a bit after.

Summary
Just a “fill in the blank” missing scene which is basically how Alec Hardy found Pippa’s body and then how he got sick afterwards, but in more detail because I’m a sucker for the whump.
