They tried to outrun the raindrops, but it was impossible. And once they were about halfway home, it became abundantly clear that it didn’t matter— they were already soaked to the bone. Lu Guang’s clothes clung tightly to his frame and Cheng Xiaoshi’s hair hung limp around his cheeks and jaw, dripping. And so Lu Guang slowed from a sprint to a jog, and then to a walk, and then a complete stop, his hand in Cheng Xiaoshi’s slowing him, too. Cheng Xiaoshi doesn’t seem the least bit put out as he comes to a complete standstill with Lu Guang in the middle of a now abandoned street, turning to face him as the rain cascaded down around them and blanketed all other sounds.
That bubble that had found them on the basketball court is back, surrounding them as they try and catch their breath, their hands still locked as they stand toe to toe, staring at each other.
The love that Lu Guang feels for Cheng Xiaoshi in that moment is so overwhelming, it nearly knocks him straight off his feet.

Lu Guang can't calculate how many times he has done this, the sins he's bearing, the deaths of people he had caused indirectly or directly, but as long as it secures the safety of the people he loves, it's fine. It's okay. Still, there's a limit to everything, his doing, and his patience. If things will never go the way he has them planned, then he just needs to take it to a more extreme measure to make sure everything is still under his control. But if the people he loves will always die no matter how hard he tries, then he will make sure they can die by none other than his very own hands and create a peaceful paradise for the three of them.

The characters that are "evil" in the original work aren't always evil in this ff (example, Vein) !
