Summary
Feanor has left the Halls of Mandos and walks in the Undying Lands again. Everyone knows what this means: he will soon break the Silmarils and the world will end.
But first, he must "get ready for it", whatever this exactly means. When will he be ready? Nobody knows, not even Finrod. Not even Namo. Everybody's waiting and speculating: some with hope, some with terror, and many with a mix of both. And the final day grows closer.
The Advent Calendar fic for 2025 (ie a chapter will be published each day Nov 30th to Dec24th.) Vaguely inspired by my previous year's Advent fic series.
Loose chapter structure (you may skip some without much loss if you want to). A mix of emotions: some cozy, some angst, some humor, some grief. The emotions gets more intense near the end. Many PoVs. The characters I tagged have repeated PoVs, but so do Maglor and Curufin. Many others have a single scene: mostly Elves, but also some of the Ainur.

Across the ocean to the west lies D'nali, a quaint island kingdom covered in lush forests and surrounded by steep sea cliffs. The Crown Prince of D'nali has sent his marriage proposal, however it shocks Zen and his court to see it's for Shirayuki. Through misfortune, a mystery and technicalities, she becomes the Duchess of Airmed. However Obi has no intentions of letting her be married off to a foreign prince, he takes it upon himself to subvert Zen and D’nali’s attempts to crown Shirayuki as Queen.

When a request from the D’nali royal family comes in, pleading for a skilled herbalist, Shirayuki is the first one to volunteer. She couldn’t give up the opportunity to travel to a foreign kingdom to perform her duties. It was perfect timing that Obi burst through the pharmacy's doors, looking spooked out of his mind. But she didn’t want to travel alone, much less considering the whole trip would be by boat.

Alhaitham wasn’t quite sure he’d ever felt a sense of belonging in the world he lived in.
He’d felt at home, maybe. Accepted, loved even, by the people around him. Tighnari had once, very gently, told him that was how he’d felt too. Neurodivergence was a painful thing to have growing up, Tighnari had told him, but it didn’t have to stay that way. It wasn’t always so alienating. Alhaitham didn’t know how to tell Tighnari that it wasn’t the autism that made him out of place. This was not people struggling to communicate with him. This was the land of Teyvat itself rejecting him, somehow. Something soul-deep told him that he would never belong here. Teyvat itself hated him for existing. In the back of his head he knew that something far more vast than him was out there, and would tear him apart given the chance.
He was just lucky it hadn’t noticed him yet.

She held herself back from touching Rachel in any way other than what was strictly necessary, even as she felt like a hungry wolf staring down a hunk of raw, bleeding meat.
