Summary
While Aquamarine and Topaz are on Earth, Aquamarine recognizes Pearl as Pink Diamond's (former) second pearl and takes her with them. During the Trial, Pearl is forced to reveal the truth about how the Crystal Gem Rebellion started and Rose Quartz's origins. Steven and Lars manage to escape from The Trial, but Pearl does not. Put on trial herself, Pearl is scapegoated and sentenced to be transformed into a disgraced mother of pearl and spend eternity at The Jackknife. Pearl must try to find a way to break free of, or at least survive, the horrors of The Jackknife with her fellow disgraced mother of pearls and a mysterious creature trapped deep within The Jackknife.

It’s Era 3! Several pearls are having a difficult time integrating in with non-pearls after awful experiences under Homeworld or other reasons. Jasper has been starting to come around and slowly integrating in with others, but is still struggling. As part of a class, Pearl organizes various groups where a non-pearl accompanies the pearls through various activities. Garnet encourages Jasper to volunteer and be one of these non-pearls. Pearl, Jasper, Peach, Chocolate, Dappled, plus a few other pearls go on a camping retreat.
Collab with SpeckledSnowBeast who did the art work! Dappled is her pearl OC as well. Chocolate and Peach are mine. Little server event prompt we paired up for, I wrote, she drew. Enjoy!

Moonlight Lanes, Bayburg is a huge, dark room punctuated with bright neon, buzzing with the inexplicable activities of humans and rumbling with sound that rises and falls like the ocean. It’s intimidating enough to pull Fireball up short, until a human with surprisingly pink hair looks up at them from behind the front counter, and blinks in something like recognition. “Hey,” she greets. “Uh...first time bowling?”
“Yes,” Fireball agrees, relieved. “How could you tell?”
The woman gives a sideways smile and scratches her cheek. “Just a hunch."

Pearl’s face falls into a sheepish grin as she’s roused from her thoughts. “I suppose I used to try harder to hide my feelings.”
“You could just ask.”
“And validate the Homeworld propaganda that Pearls are indistinguishable from each other?” She smiles in a peace offering of levity.
But the other Gem’s expression remains steely, and when she responds, her voice is deadpan. “Yes, that would run contrary to your whole mythos, wouldn’t it?”
“My mythos?”
“Oh, yes. The Renegade Pearl. You’re a mythic figure. Surely you know that.” There’s no compliment in the Gem’s voice.
When a group of Pearls arrives on the newly independent Planet of Earth, Pearl is forced to reckon with the stories others have told about her.
