“Earlier,” Legundo broke the silence, and Abolish blinked back into himself, turning to look at the doctor, who was speaking with a forced casualty that set alarms off in his mind, “You said ‘it's just work.’”
“Did I?” It was all a bit of a blur, none of it had really felt significant enough to remember.
That didn't seem to calm the doctor at all; whatever he was getting at, he just seemed even more intense than before. “Yes, when Owen was asking us if we wanted to take credit for- I said I had enough sins already, and you said ‘it's just work.’”
Abolish shrugged. “I mean, it is. I know you have a lot of trauma from killing people, but it's still just… a job, in the end.”

Summary
Sometimes the biggest difference is a person in the right place in the right time. And this is correct for Scott who was there before Avid and Owen went to the Crypt were Avid could have faced a very bad fate. Instead Owen noticed their relationship, the change they both went through and plans changed. Now the only thing left is for Scott to make piece with the fact he does feel something for Avid and go down with it.
As of Pyro... It's a story for another time.
