Summary
Knox didn’t look up. “Dalton. Stop that.”
Across the table, Charlie froze mid-motion, one hand holding his pen, the other at his mouth. “Stop what?”
“That,” Knox said, keeping his eyes fixed on his laptop screen.
Charlie raised an eyebrow. “Biting my nails?”
“Yes.”

Summary
It was easy.
Being with Knox was easy.
Charlie was stretched out on the couch, legs tangled in the blanket Knox had tossed over him earlier, his curls still damp from when they ran through the rain. He had taken off his shirt at some point, just sitting there in a pair of sweatpants and that familiar, knowing half-smile. His fingers were tangled in Knox’s hair, absent-mindedly and affectionately, dragging through it the way one might comb through seafoam.

Check out my Dead Poets Society playlist!:
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/1m4qmgWKquebzY5lyIelC7?si=FnR2c0FNQoSRc-_6zC7k2QA decade passed after the tragedy at Welton. The boys still have contact with each other, and after reaching out for the help they needed, their hearts healed and moved on. Except for one, stubborn free spirit. But he’d rather die than admit it.
In this piece of work, we follow a girl named Juliette: a doctor in training. Growing up in a wealthy household with supportive parents, she led the opposite of a confusing life. Now, she tries to navigate her future, with the struggles that find her, alongside a charming but silently pained Charlie Dalton.

Accidentally abandoned my old work so restarting it
It started with a glance across the room, their room, or rather the room they were forced to share for the upcoming year. The look of uncertainty, something hidden underneath, never addressed. Neither commented on the way their eyes trailed down to each other's lips for just a moment, nor on their stuttered introduction, the way their hands shook. The two boys didn’t know how little time they would have together, how quickly love and adoration can transform into loss and grief, maybe if they did things would have been different.

Todd Anderson and Neil Perry realise that love can’t change fate spelt in the stars, no matter how often they try to rewrite it.

(MY ORIGINAL WORK GOT DELETED BY ACCIDENT :( SORRY IF THIS CAUSES ANY CONFUSION OR INCONVENIENCE!)
Todd is still struggling even after conquering his crippling social anxiety, now carrying the pressure of adulthood and an office job as well as the desire to start a family. However, he receives a call that an important figure in his life had passed away - an although at the time it seemed like the worst thing he could hear, it ends up being the best thing that could've ever happened to him.
This is set a couple of years after the original film (1965-???) and they are all around 23-24 at the beginning.
some characters can be SLIGHTLY OOC, but I tried my best to be canon compliant with their personalities.Although it will include other ships, this is primarily an ANDERPERRY fic and will be centered around Neil and Todd.
Going off on what's canon in both the film and book, but we're going to act like Knox was never a weirdo!
(And Neil Perry never committed suicide ofc)I will try to post once a week but nothing is guaranteed.
THIS IS A SLOWBURN, THERE WILL BE NO ROMANCE UNTIL LATER ON!

Title - Promise by Laufey
Cameron and Charlie before Todd arrived, then after Charlie was expelled :(
***
Cameron had a few choice words that he threw at Charlie after being unwilling manhandled, and he sat up again. With a deep sigh, Charlie leant over Cameron and put a hand on his chest, “Go to sleep.” He pushed Cameron’s chest down and held him there until Cameron gave up fighting him.

Summary
After Neil’s death and his own expulsion, Charlie’s increasingly reckless behavior becomes the sole outlet for his anguish as his friend group is torn apart by grief. The only person who seems to care is the new tutor, Meg, his mother has hired to prevent him from falling behind.
Nearly two years later, the Dead Poets reunite at Cornell University, only nothing is the way it used to be. As the boys grapple with feelings of abandonment, isolation, and the lingering echoes of loss, their own denial keeps them from confronting the realities of how their grief has molded them. Unaware of their complicated history, Meg is thrown into the mix, dead set on helping mend old friendships. That is, all except her’s and Charlie’s.
As each of their paths collide, they begin to realize the only way to press forward is by relying once again on the boys that know them best.

Summary
Neil Perry survived the night he tried to end his life, but the aftermath was worse than death. His father took everything—Welton, acting, the Dead Poets, and most of all, Todd Anderson. Ten years later, it’s 1969, and Neil is a trauma surgeon in New Jersey, living a life that doesn’t feel like it belongs to him.
Todd never stopped loving him. After Neil disappeared, Todd and Charlie ran from everything they knew—family and Welton—and tried to build something quiet. Todd never stopped loving him. He became a scriptwriter, hoping one day he could find Neil again since Neil loved acting so much. A brutal car accident leaves Todd with a broken body and mounting hospital bills that are too high to pay. Things only get worse after an assault within the hospital doors. When he wakes up in trauma, he finds himself face-to-face with the boy—no, the man—he thought he’d never see again.
They find eachother over and over again.

Summary
'It's strange, looking at someone who you lived with for a year, shared a room with, laughed with, cried with, had so many life altering moments with, and knowing that now… well, you might as well be strangers. Neil decided that he hated this feeling. He never wanted to not know Todd.'
Even after Neil's failed suicide attempt, his father still forces him to go to medical school and become a doctor. Neil being pulled out of Welton puts a fracture through the group of boys, and as they leave school and move away, their relationships fade into distant childhood memories. Except for Todd and Neil, who cant seem to forget each other.
This is a kind of crossover between multiple fandoms, but you only really need to be familiar with the Dead Poets Society.
