Then Ivan opened his eyes again and looked directly at Till with a deep, disarming curiosity.

The world stopped.
The phrase echoed in Till's mind not as a new question, but as a ghost. A bullet that hit the exact same spot as the old wound. He heard Ivan's voice, but older, from his hallucinations, laden with a sad irony and a painful acceptance. He saw the stage. He felt the cold microphone in his hands. He knew what came next.
"How could I not care?"

His world stopped, and he felt like a stranger looking out of his own eyes. Loneliness felt like a wall he'd built brick by careful brick around himself. He wanted to be loved, to be seen past the flaws, believing he was destined to be alone. His present existence felt always just... under a cloud by a crushing load of unanswered questions.
Cold and alone, he just lay there. He was just Ivan Baek, with his body. Socializing just drained him.
Then, everything changed. Before, it hadn't mattered if he was around or not. But without him, Ivan realized, his days felt empty. On weekends when the boy didn't come, the house felt like all the life had been sucked out of it. He started missing his chatter, his laughter, even his teasing.
His insides clamped down. All Ivan wanted was to keep him there, all to himself. The thought felt heavy, wrong. He knew he couldn't, shouldn't. But the weird voice in his head wouldn't quit—was that even okay? Wanting someone this much? Wanting Till Lee this much?

That’s why he wants to be there for Till, too. Despite the fact that he’d been deeply and irrevocably in love with his best friend since that day in the playground, he’d done nothing but support every infatuation, fling, and relationship Till found himself in. And anytime Till would find himself in situations only he could idiotically get into, Ivan was heading to him with a taser to boot, just in case.

Ivan died in the sixth round of the 50th season of Alien Stage.
He was as dead as a guy taking three bullets and left to bleed out in the fake rain.
That was before he woke up in the body of a staved sixteen-year-old boy from a mass-production human farm, currently being sold on the black market.
He was lost on what to do, as his universe was free and he had no more use for his lovely Till.
Actually...So that was how the story of Ivan trying to re-sacrifice himself for Till began.
Somewhere far far away (not really), Till was riding on the motorcycle, thinking about a certain black-haired man, his smile and calming presence.
Fate was a funny thing, right?
Ivan died for Till, even when Till didn't want to live.
Deep down, Ivan knew that there was no way Till could defeat Luka, it was a selfish wish for Till not to die by his hands.
