Summary
Eliot’s life looks like a dream: he’s a wildly successful musician, touring the world with his brilliant bandmate and BFF Margo. Eliot’s secret: the last time he was truly happy, he was surviving on instant ramen and store-brand peanut butter in a ramshackle rented house with a man who, in retrospect, was the love of his life. You live and you learn. He’s made peace with it. Until, one day, Margo routes their tour through a city on the other side of the ocean—the city where Quentin lives.
Totally AU, no magic at all unless you consider music, sex, and love to be magic. And I hope you like Eliot spending time in his feelings.

Summary
The Great Cock had said a lot of things, most of them unfortunately relevant, a few of them less so. Among the latter had been his comments on Quentin: Eliot’s “brother of the heart.” Two parts of a whole. Etc. Standard quest language, Eliot had thought.
As it turned out, not quite so standard.

Summary
"It's strange, but after all that fighting to get Eliot back, Quentin can't think of any possible way to start the conversation. Anything would either be too much or not enough, so he just stays where he is, knotted up on the chair, not able to take his eyes off Eliot's face."

Summary
Quentin is a very straight boy whose soulmate is a female girl named Julia Wicker. He knows this because he's been able to see washed-out colors since he's known her.
Then, one day, he starts seeing more color. But that doesn't make sense because he already has a female, girl soulmate, and the person he met when it happened is a male guy. This can't be right!

Summary
In which Eliot’s horrible parents announce they’re coming to NYC to watch a taping of "Live with Kelly and Ryan" and plan to crash at his modest Brooklyn apartment. They call on their way to the Fort Wayne International Airport. Eliot has the space of a plane ride from Indiana to New York to figure out a plan…
All this time he’s told his kin he’s happy and successful, with a live-in boyfriend, raising a family of beautiful culinary herbs together. Most of that is true—except he doesn’t have a boyfriend at all, much less one who lives with him.
Once again, Quentin saves the day.
A Magicians future fic that disregards the last half of 4x13. Quentin saved the day but escaped alive.

“I know you don’t like promises,” Eliot tells her, “but you should know that I’m still quite selfish, and so it’ll be the easiest promise in the world to keep, because it’s something that I very much want.”
“You say that like you’re good at letting yourself have what you want,” Arielle says wryly.

“I can't do this,” Quentin said, as soon as Fen was out the door. “Fuck, Julia. I can't just marry some stranger.” His stomach was doing backflips and he was pretty sure his heart was going to actually explode. “We have to tell Fogg to call it off.”

Summary
Quentin had pulled out one of his earphones.
“What?”
Josh made a shushing sound and Julia grabbed his other earphone and pulled it off.
“Listen,” she said.
“Okay, guys, if this is about the rats you keep saying are hiding somewhere near the elevator shaft,” he started, going for his earphones again.
“Listen,” she repeated more forcefully.
He rolled his eyes at her, but then he finally heard it.
It started with low moans, started growing in intensity and then the mattress springs joined in.
“That’s impressive,” Josh said in awe.

Summary
"What kind of name was 'Quentin Coldwater' anyway? It sounded like something from a cheesy superhero show or more likely, based on the wording in the ad, someone from a fringe religious cult. Still, desperate times were definitely upon him and so, even if Eliot technically didn't meet, well, literally any of the requirements Quentin had listed... he could hopefully fake it long enough to secure whatever tiny side room Quentin was renting out so cheaply."

Summary
Quentin has known Eliot for seven months when it occurs to him: he’s got no idea what Eliot’s major is.
“I don’t know why you don’t just ask him,” Julia says over her paper cup, shrugging, “if you’re so curious, just ask him it’s not like it’s some state secret.”
“I can’t, Jules, you know I can’t,” he cries, setting his own coffee down with a little more force than necessary. “It’s too late now, we’re way past this shit. It’s gonna be weird if I bring it up now.”

"Quentin didn't feel the wards drop, only became aware Eliot had returned when he felt a soft kiss on the top of his head. He closed his book, tossed it – carefully – onto the coffee table, and tilted his head back to get an upside-down kiss from his boyfriend."

Summary
"Eliot took Quentin by the elbow, smiled his brightest and most fake smile at some cousin or other that Quentin had pointed out a minute ago. No one in the room looked very much like Q, though Eliot could spot a few similar features here and there. His mother's family, he'd said, numerous and loud and, from how Q had said it, too intimidating for Quentin to want to face alone."

Summary
“You don’t?” Eliot asks, sounding a little off, hoarse, and Quentin passes him his water bottle, shrugging when Eliot looks uncomprehendingly down at it. “What– okay,” He clears his throat, starts again. “So you’re over your ex, that’s good. I’m sure your father will understand.”
“Yeah, I mean– yeah, he’ll get it, but he’ll worry,” Quentin runs a hand through his hair, huffing, “he’ll worry, and he’ll start asking questions and wondering– El, what if he wants to visit? He can’t come to Brakebills! I’ll have to, I don’t know. I don’t know. Pretend to show him around Yale? Is that illegal– it sounds like it’s illegal–”
Eliot presses another drink into his hands.
“Before we resort to felonies,” he stops Quentin’s rambling, taking a large drink of a flask he produces from under the cushions. “Why don’t we try something easier? How about you ask someone else to go with you?”
Once again, Quentin’s brain freezes.

“I don’t think either of us is exactly married to anyone, anymore,” Eliot hedges, giving Q a sheepish look.
“The circumstances aren’t really clear,” Quentin says, picking up the paper to squint at it again. “I think we could fake it.”
“You can’t fake a marriage for magic, Quentin.”

Summary
“No way.”
“What do you mean, no way? I already sent a message to the family group chat saying you’re coming.”
“Eliot!”
“They weren’t taking me seriously. I had to bring someone they could actually see and touch and breathe in so they believe I have a real boyfriend and not just a random blow up doll I use to pretend there’s someone else in the house with me.”
Quentin stutters for a second, struggling to choose which part of all of that to unpack first.
