Summary
In one of many timelines, the Player controlling Frisk either rage quitted, or just stopped playing Undertale for a while after failing to defeat Asgore. When they stopped, Frisk's soul would have been taken, and Asgore invaded the Surface. Since Asgore promised a war, he started one with humanity, who in this version of the story have no idea why he's attacking them.
Three human mages must find a way to create peace between the warring factions before all is lost.
One of those mages is a soul of Bravery, who take POV in this story.

Bravery is for story book heroes, in your opinion. Fantastic tales of daring do have never been your cup of tea. You're not brave, after all -- anxiety has made terror flow under your skin with as much familiarity and regularity as your heartbeat. You much prefer to stay in your own lane, keep to yourself, and try not to trouble anyone unnecessarily with your problems. If the world needs a hero, you're pretty sure it won't ever be you.
But then again, sometimes the world has other ideas. After all, how can you remain a bystander when you think a kid is about to do something terribly sad and stupid?
You never imagined you'd find answers to questions you had never let yourself ask.
