Summary
In a strange coffee shop beyond time, Morpheus meets Paige, a lost and lonely Dreamer troubled by her forgotten past. Together, they encounter familiar faces and embark on a heartfelt journey of friendship, healing, and self-discovery.
Contains spoilers for the Sandman series finale ("A Tale of Graceful Ends") and the show in general. Which absolutely wrecked me emotionally. So. You know. I had to write a nice little epilogue for it.

Summary
The Dreaming stands, but Dream... Dream is gone.
In the aftermath of the assault on the Dreaming, the Kindly Ones delivered their judgement, their punishment - for spilling blood - and yet, Dream is gone... but not yet returned. Death does not understand why. Endless remain... and yet Dream... is just gone.
Only because the Kindly Ones did not take his life that day. No. It's not much of a punishment if it was what he craved most.
No, instead, they trap him in an unending nightmare - living the moment he killed his son over and over again. Until he breaks, until he begs, until the end of time - Dream doesn't know. He just knows there's no escape. There's no help coming. He's alone.
And every day that he kills his son - just to wash the blood away again and again... He desires for this to end, he would beg for death, he wallows in despair, and he worries he's becoming delirious. The touch of his siblings reside in him, but he accepts they will never come for him. He deserves this. It's his punishment.
His siblings don't care - he tells himself... unaware they don't even know he's alive, and if they did - none of them, not even Desire, would agree.

Summary
Avery’s laugh is the first thing Morpheus hears on a Monday morning in early September. Just as he wakes, the hyperactive culprit jumps up on the bed and onto his chest, winding him in the process. Turning his head to the side, he notices Hob has already left the bed; likely, he is in the kitchen making breakfast. His heart flutters a little as he realises he was probably left to sleep longer, as he had been in a fair amount of pain last night and had not slept easily.
Set two years on from 'what was before is left behind', Morpheus is still adjusting to human life, Hob Gadling is being stubborn and refuses to give in, Avery is still being a ray of sunshine- but something is still not quite right.

Summary
"Hello Hob."
That voice.
Hob turned towards the door so quickly he feared he may have given himself whiplash. This was a fever dream. He was sick, feverish and hallucinating. That was the only explanation. Or he was crazy. Perhaps the death of his oldest friend finally drove him crazy. Had driven him to the brink of insanity. Because his Stranger – Dream of the Endless, Lord Morpheus, King of Dreams and Nightmares – was standing in front of him, at the edge of the bar.
--
aka. It's been three days since the funeral of Lord Morpheus, and Hob finds a familiar face after forgetting to lock up after the New Inn closes for the night. -

Summary
“When an Endless passes away,” she began slowly, her voice calm yet carrying the weight of their age-old traditions, “their successor inherits all their power and memories. So, when Daniel Hall became the new Dream of the Endless, the Dream you knew ceased to exist.”
“So does that mean Dream’s no longer an Endless?”
“That’s right. He’s human, just like you."
-- Dream comes back as a human with no memory of his former status and Hob takes care of him --

Summary
"Dream?"
The name falls off the man’s lips, hushed and breathless, and it stirs an answering feeling in Morpheus’ chest, something tugging deep behind the cage of his ribs, an incomprehensible yearning to be this man’s Dream.
"I fear you mistake me for another,” he says, at last.
*
Or, retired Morpheus tries to navigate human life without the foundation of his memories, and a chance encounter is the catalyst he needs to find himself.

Summary
“Morpheus, sweetheart. My darling,” Hob murmurs, low enough that Morpheus can bear to hear it. That it feels like a gentle caress, rather than a slap. “You know you can't carry on like this, don't you?”
Hob conducts a plan to help his newly human Morpheus adjust to the concept of eating. It goes... pretty well.

Summary
"I have never seen anyone lead a perfect life. The best any of us can do is enjoy what little time we have. And try not to ruin it for anyone else. And whatever mistakes you've made, or think you've made… maybe it's not too late to fix them."
Dream hums, contemplating Hob's words before he looks up at him with the vaguest ghost of a smile glimmering in his eyes. "And if I were to take your advice? To 'try and enjoy what little time I have…' Would I ruin it for you if I were to stay for another drink?"
"Never, my friend," Hob grins in spite of himself. "Why don't we go up to mine? I've still got that Chateau Lafitte."
...
There are many post-canon dreamling fix-it fics. This... is one of them.
Chapter 1 is a prelude of sorts, showing the rest of Dream and Hob's last meeting in the waking world. Subsequent chapters are set after the finale, before and during Death: The High Cost of Living.

Summary
“I am going to ask you for something. You have every right to say ‘no.’ In fact, you probably should, but I need to ask anyway.”
Six months after Hob Gadling said good-bye to his oldest friend, Morpheus, Death comes to him for help with an impossible task. It’s up to Hob to care for the freshly resurrected--and painfully human--Dream, help him restore his memories…and ultimately let him go all over again. For his part, Dream is just trying to figure out who he is, what he's supposed to do, and why the dark is trying to get him. The only thing that makes any sense is Hob and his kindness, and the certainty that that all Dream wants is to stay by Hob's side.

Summary
Daniel swallows the last of his drink. “So.” He clears his throat. “What did you call me here for?”
“I am retiring,” announces Morpheus, like he’s talking about the weather.
A celebrity au in which Morpheus steps down, and Daniel steps up. Shockingly, nobody kills themselves.

Summary
His eyes lock onto Hob’s with intent so sharp it’s almost physical. His voice is calm, low, almost conversational, but his meaning lands like a touch on bare skin: “We should go to your flat instead.”
For a moment, Hob forgets how to breathe. There’s nothing casual about it, not with the ribbon still biting pale skin, not with the weight of Dream’s gaze pinning him down, not with the index finger digging into the plush red of his lip. The words carry heat, want, endless inevitability.

Summary
“What else can we do?” Dream answered. It was somber, final. “There is a price for what I have done, and I must pay it.”
“Then pay it,” Death urged, suddenly. This was very unlike her. She sounded like Despair, almost. “Live. Live with what you have done, and carry on.”
Dream lives. Or rather Dream dies, but then he lives and Hob is there to help.
