Summary
The New World. The most dangerous ocean in the world, and perhaps, a bit more so for us than it usually is for newcomers.
Sengoku knows the truth and wants Ace's head, while an emperor of the sea wants me for their rare animal collection. Between the two of us, we're constantly being hunted as we sail across the ocean by pirates, marines, and bounty hunters alike. Ace and I may be ready for the New World and the danger it brings, but our little crew may be another story.
We'll have to get stronger to protect them. A large part of me is still counting on us eventually joining Whitebeard's crew, taking refuge under the protection his name offers, and giving Ace a place I hope he can call home. I’m just hoping I haven’t done something to mess that up.
First things first though, we've got to hunt down Shanks and thank him for saving Luffy's life all those years ago.

Summary
Things go a little differently at Marineford. Ace and Whitebeard escape death by the slimmest margin. There is little hope that Whitebeard will survive much longer with his Devil Fruit taken and body torn apart in the war. After a week of agony and sleep deprivation following the worst day of his life, Marco devises a plan that will see his father and the Whitebeard Pirates return to their former strength. No one else is happy about it and Blenheim wishes he didn't pick up the Den Den Mushi.

Younger Luffy Au, as in Lu being 6 year younger than in canon meaning he's 1 when Garp leaves him with 10 yo Ace and Sabo. As such, Sabo never gets seen by his father as he's with Luffy at that moment. When they set out, at 17, they take Luffy with them and meet up periodically to switch out who keeps him with them (which means Dragon also gets a chance with his son) and the WBP get to see a chance to see another Ace. Also, the idea is for Sabo to just appear on the Moby with Lu on his hip his voice carrying, "what's going on here." While Luffy wiggles down and hugs Ace tightly, making him all melt.

"I don't think I’ll make it before you leave–" You look away, not bearing to face his piercing stare anymore.
"I can wait!" he interrupts, letting go of your hand as quickly as he took it. "I mean uhh... me and the crew... we can wait for you," he stutters out. "This place seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind staying here for a few more days."
"We'll see," you softly chuckle in an attempt to hide your blank eyes. "I mean, who else is supposed to save you when you're halfway beaten to death?"
Hearing his halfhearted laugh sent a striking pain through your chest. You swallow hard to keep a sob from escaping your throat as you realise this might be the last time you ever hear it. Tears roll down your cheeks, blurring your vision as you lock eyes with the freckled man you've been dreaming about for the past months.
The familiar warmth tingles on your skin as he gently cups your face, his thumb carefully wiping away the tears on your cheek. Without breaking your gaze he leans in closer and whispers, "I don't want to be saved by anybody else, y/n."

In her second life she realized how constrained she was, and vowed to actually live this time around. She died young, alone, and caged in gold bars instead of barbed wire pulled tight until she bled.
