“Okay,” Teshima said, “can we trade back now?” He squeezed Alakazam lovingly. “I want him back.”
Golem clutched at Aoyagi’s pants eagerly. Aoyagi nodded, recalling Alakazam right out of Teshima’s arms. Murkrow croaked in surprise when the spoons vanished under him, flapping to regain his balance on Teshima’s shoulder. Teshima winced when Murkrow slapped him across the back of the head, but pulled out Golem’s pokéball. She returned willingly.
When they traded back, Teshima picked up Alakazam’s pokéball and hugged it to his chest briefly before clipping it back onto his belt. He smiled across the machine at Aoyagi.
“Thanks,” he said, “we’ve wanted to do that for a while.”
Aoyagi shook his head. “It was my ad. Thank you.”
“Aw, well, you’re welcome!” They grinned at each other for a moment, then Teshima nodded once. “Right. Well. I guess… it was nice to meet you, Aoyagi,” he said, and turned to walk away.
Aoyagi was struck by sudden panic. He didn’t want Teshima to go. “Ah-!”

If Hijikata turned around to see who was talking, he feared he would start cutting people open, and that was something Kondou-san had explicitly prohibited. In fact, he had actually made Hijikata sign a memo that read I promise not to cut anyone open at any time during the yoga lessons.
