Summary
The forest air was thick—not with pine or damp earth, but the metallic stench of death. Jin walked a trail that was less a path and more a monument to conquest, carved by Mongols to instill terror. Above him, skeletal silhouettes of war crimes swayed in the breeze. Bodies hung like grotesque fruit—burnt, stripped, brutalized. Each corpse a deliberate lesson etched into the land.
One body hung differently. Not charred, not bare—its torn, blood-soaked garments still clung to it. Draped across a low branch of an ancient oak, it hovered just above a man’s height. Then, a shudder. The branch gave way. With a dull crack and tearing cloth, the body dropped.
It landed before Jin with a thump. A dark rivulet of blood escaped the figure’s mouth, staining the leaves. A low wince followed—a tremor of pain betraying life.
Yet the figure didn’t move. Eyes shut, limbs limp. No plea, no struggle. Only silent surrender to the cold earth.
The forest held its breath, waiting for the samurai’s next move.

This is a series of short stories building along the storyline of the love developing between Jin Sakai and Yuna in the game. This picks up the story from where the cut scenes finish in the game but I continue the story afterwards.
I know this game has been out for a while but I just wanted to do a love story for these after I had done a story of them just maintaining their bond after the war already.

Summary
The war has finished, the Khan is dead and killing what remaining Mongols is almost done. Jin Sakai roams the island and his thoughts turn to Yuna and finding her again. this is a story of healing and their strong bond that helps them move forward and perhaps find a new life of their own.
This is my first effort at writing so happy for constructive feedback. My intention is to continue the story in the same line that the game actually did, by not actually putting the relationship in a love affair but a strong bond that helps them move forward.
There are six chapters in all.

“The haiku don’t need to be good, Taka,” Jin said. “The point is to find peace in composing them.”
Jin had been taking Taka with him to some of the most beautiful spots in the wilderness outside Komatsu to write haiku. When Jin noticed that Taka was struggling to cope with the aftermath of being captured, he suggested the practice as a way to calm Taka’s mind — after all, if it worked for a samurai before battle, it could work for a blacksmith during an invasion.

Taka had enjoyed the last few weeks training with Jin, but being in close quarters with the samurai could be…tense. Despite his attraction for Jin, Taka always tried to remain polite and keep things friendly. But the heady moments where Jin stood behind him and guided Taka through stances, their bodies pressed close and Jin’s breath ghosting over Taka’s ear — those were moments where Taka’s resolve waned.

Summary
Taka considers him. He leans back a little further against the post, crossing his wrists in front of him, his hands resting loosely on his thigh. He tilts his head. Sakai takes another involuntary, upward step.
“Lord Sakai,” Taka says. “Everyone is grateful to you, none more than me. Everyone feels safer when you’re here.” He looks at Sakai from beneath his lashes. His finger traces an artless pattern into his wrist. The words feel wonderfully bold, passing through his mouth.
He says, “I would be very glad if you stayed with me tonight.”

Ryuzo watched him dress without rising, but as Jin made for the shoji he stood hurriedly, catching Jin’s wrist and pulling him close for a warm, deep kiss.
“Jin,” Ryuzo started, resting their foreheads together.
Jin’s heart picked up, hoping he knew what Ryuzo was about to say.
“I… Good luck.” He finished, and Jin sagged in disappointment.~~~
