Caden was not the only Bryce child insane enough to do something crazy in order to protect those around him. Because of this Illarion nearly gets shot out of the sky by a little girl wielding fireworks.

The Bryce family are moved into the castle the night of the bomb threat incident, and the next morning Tilly runs away for a day and accidentally creates a political incident when she scolds Illarion in the middle of dragon strike square.
This will mainly focuses on the platonic friendship between Illarion and Tilly. They make it everyone else's problem.

He's in the custody of the loathed and feared Demon King Valerius, and with his shattered halo and broken wings, there's no escape from him... but should he even want to leave?
This story originated as an RP on the Raythe Reign discord server with Snom (who has no AO3 account, so unfortunately cannot be added as a co-creator). It began October 3rd 2022 and has since continued! Summary
When I first started reading Dragon's Reign, I related to the character of Caden (except that he was super fit and had a good relationship with his sibling). When you relate to a character, you want to project aspects of yourself and your identity onto said character. That's why you see fanarts turning characters different races and genders, even changing their sexuality.
Fan projection leads to fan representation, you see characters who never otherwise would've been allowed to, become all sorts of identities.
I'm not a person of color, but I am transgender. After reading Dragon's Reign, I can recognize places where the story could benefit from having Caden be transgender, so I am rewriting those scenes to include transgender representation.
In my headcanon, Rose is also transgender. This is because of how shunned she is in society for being a swarm-shifter. I like this aspect, and transgender people are also shunned, so for further solidarity, she will be a black transwoman (also black transwomen and black drag queens were the people who started pride so we should honor them by representing them whenever we can).
