Summary
The color in Steve’s face is starting to return, though he still looks a little ghostly. The doctors also changed the bandages on Steve’s arms, from the white bulky wrappings to a beige ace-bandage. Eddie likes the beige ones better, they don’t look as jarring as the white chunky bandages.
As sleep comes for Eddie, he catches himself staring at Steve’s sleeping face. The same prominent freckles are still on his face, his lips are just a little bit cracked from the stale hospital air. Eddie can’t help it when he brings his finger up to trace along the cracks on Steve’s lips.
Eddie doesn’t stay awake long enough for when everyone else comes back into the room. He falls asleep five or so minutes after he traces Steve’s lips. He falls asleep with his hand on Steve’s chest, right above his heart. The thumping under his hand washes a warmth over him. He falls asleep tangled up right beside Steve.
or, eddie realizing he's in love with steve after a clusterfuck of a day, and the aftermath that is, in itself, quite lovely after all.

Just prom. As if. It could have been just prom, if Will wasn't about to ask out the guy of his dreams.
If he said no, prom would be "just prom." Just a night of fun with his friends, to say goodbye to this school and this phase of his life. Just a small piece of the giant farewell this month was.
But if he said yes…
Will was not going to focus on anything but the "if." Because only the word "yes" would open that door of possibility.
He took one more deep, deep breath. Like, Pacific Ocean deep. "Will you go to prom with me?"
