“[...] and you see in Laika’s eyes the glint of the stars, and you see the light in Laika’s eyes go out.”
-
Maybe it was just that Laika was too kind a dog to have been involved in any of this. Maybe Francis was just tired of getting his hopes up for a moment, just to have them entirely crushed.
“None of us are surviving this,” He’d said, and everyone had turned, had stared at him like he’d said something disturbing- like he’d talked about killing himself again. But he was right, wasn’t he? Even Laika, who was a brave, good girl, who never did anything wrong and loved treats and loved the stars, couldn’t survive this.

Summary
The opening notes to the song were a familiar comfort, in that her hands had traced this exact path dozens of times. Enough times that it was impossible to forget, enough times that she could glance away from the piano for a moment, steal a glance at Kelsey.
She wasn’t writing, the way Trudy had expected her to be, just staring, lips parted slightly, entire body leaning towards Trudy and swaying to the music, just slightly.
Even after all this time, Kelsey’s open adoration for her was enough to make her blush, look away, back to the ivory keys, back to the moment, left hand sliding down an octave.
And, for that moment, Trudy’s past and present were connected through music.

Summary
"If I wasn’t for you, Kelsey, I would have left by now.”
Trudy and Kelsey have weathered the worst of it and beaten back the apocalypse with their friends and family. Now that they've fought for and won the chance to build their life together, they have to decide what that will look like in the wake of all they've just faced.
Butchfemme Kelsey/Trudy, written from Kelsey's POV, SFW, set in post-cannon but tiptoeing around how it ends as I can’t possibly know that right now. Spoilers if you haven't listened to s3 ep16 yet!

Summary
Francis is having a hard time adjusting after they defeat Zhouzel. It's weird living somewhere that isn't his house, with people who are not his parents but are his family. It's hard to adjust to having only one leg, and it's hard to feel like he deserves better than the shitty hand he's been dealt. Kelsey, Blake, and Trudy notice, and they also notice that when Francis is especially struggling, he tends to act like a little kid...
Now how do they confront him about it, and how do they help him with his regression? This won't be easy...

Summary
Trudy owed her some sincerity. “Well, you see, I’m not often flirted with,” she admitted.
“How is that possible? You are just gorgeous, Trudy, and it’s important you know that. Inside and out."
or: Something changes within Trudy when she's introduced to Kelsey at the racetrack.

Summary
”How did you know?” She whispered, and Terrence sent a melancholic sort of feeling through their minds.
“I always knew, even when I was with Tucker and wanted to pretend I didn't mind being a wife, and a mother, and a woman. I never wanted any of that, though, it just felt wrong. Who I was as Trudy wasn't me. I don't know if Tucker programmed that out of you. It's nothing wrong with you if he did, but. Do you ever wish you were a man?

What if Trudy hadn't been so accepting of the news given to her by Trudy Alpha?
Basically, the direction I wished they'd gone with Beth's character this season.

Summary
Brunhilde settled a light, bony finger on his shoulder, and, this time, it didn't feel like a threat. “I may be a weapon, but a girl must have her pleasures, no?”
“That's not really an answer,” He muttered, but he ordered the drink for her nonetheless, because this was one of the first even semi-normal things she'd requested of him, and maybe he hated her (he didn't, not really; none of this was really her fault, if he thought about it. It was all either his, or it was his… his parents’), but.
There wasn't really a but, not one that really made sense- but he didn't see how denying her would help? But he could understand what it was like to have other people controlling your life, and he felt sympathy towards her because of that?
Maybe it didn't mean anything at all.

Summary
And maybe it was because Trudy was still feeling upset at Tucker, or because the compliment stirred something within her (anyone would be lucky to have her- on the team, at least, but it was a sentiment she could no longer really see Tucker holding), or maybe it was because she’d spent the last few months sneaking more glances at Kelsey than were strictly necessary, letting her eyes linger on mouth and eyes and body, the way she’d wondered and even fantasized, just a little, about how kissing her would feel, but, whatever the reason, she leaned forward and pressed her lips to Kelsey’s.

Summary
At least, Tucker decided, she seemed to be moving in the right direction. One or two more Trudies, and he was sure she’d become the perfect wife. The idealised version of herself.
That night, when he confronted her, there was a very real fear in her eyes, but this one argued. It wasn’t her fault, she’d just been having a friendly conversation with their neighbour, what did he have against her talking to other people? Why did he have all these rules, what was the point-
After jabbing the screwdriver into her neck, Tucker took the time to note down how much more rebellious this Trudy had been- the last one had been perfectly docile, he wasn’t sure what it was that had made this one different.
Whatever it was, he dropped the fourth Trudy onto the slowly growing pile of others in the cave near the edge of town, and he began creating a new one.

Summary
Soft, robotic fingers curled around the book in her hands, with its creaking leather bindings and tiny print to fit all the knowledge it had to share on as few pages as it had managed.
Golden letters spelled out The Bible on its cover, and, now that Trudy could read, from what she’d read… it was nice, comforting. The idea of an eternal afterlife where, upon welcoming the Lord into her heart, she could- she could find a much more fulfilling life, one without Tucker or robots or any of that having any place in it.
But… something that had been sticking out to her, recently- the idea that, as a robot, could she even go to Heaven?

Summary
That was the first moment where Kelsey actually got to properly consider the situation, to actually think about it for more than a few moments.
…She wasn’t sure how to feel about the idea that had been rotating around in her mind, that, maybe, when Tucker took Original Trudy’s brain and turned her into a series of robots, that had been the reason why her soulmarks had disappeared, that maybe that meant Trudy was her soulmate. Or, Original Trudy, who wasn’t quite the same as her Trudy, which she supposed made the entire thing even more odd. Especially because- when it came down to it, she wouldn’t want to trade her Trudy for the Trudy that might have been her soulmate, because this was the Trudy she- well, she was in love with.
