Garrus and Shepard have settled into married life on the Citadel two years after the Reaper war. Garrus has taken the position of Primarch, representing the 3 million Turian refugees and citizens that now live on the Citadel after the damage suffered on Palaven. Shepard has spent her time after the war rehabbing and retiring from service. Settling into civilian life is finally feeling like normalcy, and their recently adopted daughter adds even more to their seemingly, now normal, lives.
But remnants of the divisions created by the Reaper War still remain, and life was never meant to be quiet for the newly formed Vakarian family.

“You really can’t feel this?”
Garrus cleared his throat. “Not exactly.”
She peered up at him, seeking more. His mandibles flared and his face plates contracted. Scratching his temple with his other hand, he continued. “I don’t think there’s a word for it in either of our languages. The closest description I can think of is ‘muted’.”
She blinked, trying to imagine it.
“Here, perhaps this is a close approximation,” he took her hand and flicked the top of her fingernail. He was right, the quick pressure distributed across the whole surface. “Muted” was a good word.
“So no massages for Turians, then.”
Garrus chuckled. “Not unless you have a hammer.”
Shepard eyed the two-handed Krogan war mallet on her wall, collected on their recent visit to Tuchanka. “That could be arranged.” -
