The peace was nice, yes, but back in Helsinki Joel would have been either at his parents’ house or Joonas’s apartment, playing video games or sipping coffee as he painted, or perhaps idly picking away at a melody that had plagued his head. Quiet, at least for him, sleepy, a chance to relax and hibernate in the Finnish January.
But he wasn’t in Finland. The Spanish coast was bright and hot, sunny, and he was imbibed with too much energy for the sleepy day.

A tiny path split off from the well trodden hiking trail, so minute and insignificant that if you weren’t looking for it, it would be easy to miss. Originally made by animals to cut across to a small clearing, it was now being used by a different kind of animal.
In the small clearing, out of sight and out of mind from the hiking trail, Bojan struggled with his phone. The tiny tripod he had clinging to a tree branch slid every time he tried to let go of the device, losing the angle he wanted. He huffed in annoyance, scrubbing at his face with his hands.
