There was a human in Tubbo’s cell. Every fiber of his being buzzed with fear and terror, urged him to get away, but after seeing the human cowering before him, he wasn’t sure what to think.
He tapped his feet quickly against the floor, thinking. It was still in his cell, doing who knew what.
“Screw it! I’m going in!” He huffed, pushing up the door and flying inside. His cell was fairly dark, as he’d left it. Nothing was out of place, except for the lanky, curled up shape hidden in one corner.
Tubbo landed soundlessly on his fuzzy carpet, and padded over to the human. He hesitated a little before reaching out to poke it, and quickly brought all of his hands back close to him just in case.
The human reached out a shaky hand and pushed his foot away, before bringing it back again.
“Hm. Well you’re definitely not attacking me."

What he finds is unbelievable: a train moving along the rings, and inside it, a being floating in a glowing tube of turquoise liquid. This being is Kimhan, the last of the Eirenai — an ancient race that once protected the planets. They were called Solariths, and their power kept Saturn’s rings shining.
But Kim is dying — and as he weakens, Saturn begins to die too. Without a life partner to share his power with, he can’t keep the planet stable. He’s cautious, guarded, and speaks a language Chay doesn’t understand.
Chay was only supposed to investigate and report back. But instead, he makes a choice that changes everything: he decides to stay.

But for now, they relaxed into a gentle silence, watching the stars as they blinked into life above them, forming innumerable constellations and delicate patterns across the sky. They sat together until Scar felt his eyes grow heavy, at which point he bid Mumbo goodnight before trailing back down the hill and across the river, steel cane in hand, towards Rusty, who’d fallen asleep after all.

背景：
一艘满载着联盟公民的运输舰因遭遇了虫族攻击迫降在了帝国和公共星系交界处一颗原始星球上，即将从联盟军校毕业的alpha青年罗斌为了寻找自己的omega哥哥罗兰加入了搜寻的小队。正直壮年又拥有强大异能的青年对这次的搜救行动信心满满，然而却在降落的第一天就受到了现实的毒打，索性被幻影骑士团的omega雇佣兵李麟所救这才捡回了一条命。
而迫降到原始星球的罗兰，遇到了一个陷入狂躁的变形异能者，并遭到了对方的绑架。这个alpha异能者不是别人，正是闻名宇宙的狮心军团失踪数月的团长公爵凯撒。更重要的是，他来自帝国，并且正在被帝国的皇帝通缉。
在水面之下，联盟、帝国、异能者之间的斗争愈加激烈。
这里没有绝对的好人，没有绝对的坏人，每个人都为了自己的欲望和私心行事。

一些基本的概念设定：
联盟：以地球为核心的联盟政治体系，设有上议院及下议院。
帝国：基于血脉与婚姻的封建君主制度势力，后经政变逐渐过渡为君主立宪。
宇宙联盟：宇宙联合体，无实权，基于宇宙基本道德共识及签署的和平条约对各方势力进行监督和监管（基本等于白板）
高级虫族：外表与人类相似，无生殖隔离，雄性与雌性比例为1:99，雄性通过荷尔蒙和信息素控制雌性的行为，被标记的雌性无法反抗自己的雄主。
异能者：因基因变异而拥有强大力量的生命体，70%为alpha，异能的使用会增强他们的精神负担，因而需要匹配度高的omega与他们交配进行疏导。联盟境内的异能者从被发现的那一刻起就由联盟承担一切衣食住行和开销，同时他们也必须在联盟各个部分服役。
犯罪豁免法：由于异能者的特殊性，当他们因狂躁无法控制自己而作出不良行为的时候根据联盟法律可以不用承担法律责任，该豁免法通常用于针对异能者alpha性侵的起诉。

一些基本政治势力说明：
反科技者：该组织原名为地球联合科学研究联盟会，简称科学联盟，成立于第三次世界大战结束之后，即旧纪元3029年，新纪元元年，曾是人类文明复兴的核心力量。这群科学家坚信人不应当为了满足自己旺盛的好奇心而去探索他不该知道的领域，因而被联邦法院以“阻碍人类发展”的罪名定义为恐怖分子。
联盟军：该组织成立于新纪元2年，为人类联盟军事力量的集合体，在之后的发展中根据地理位置逐渐演化为共分为东、南、西、北四大军区，与联邦法院相互制衡。
联邦法院：人类旧纪元政治联盟演化后的集合体，最早用来监督联盟军是否在“探索宇宙科技、推进人类发展及打击违法犯罪过程中是否秉承人道主义精神”，后逐渐滋生大量贪污腐败，与联盟军形成了微妙的对立共生关系。
超能力者：由人类基因变异及跨种族通婚产生的特殊人群，发生概率为五十万分之一。他们大多隶属于联盟军和联邦法院，只有极少数的人选择成为自由雇佣兵。

飞行队及飞行员：联盟军中地位最高的战斗部门，优秀的飞行员会在获得了一定的实战经验并通过考试后成为机甲飞行员。
工程队及工程师：联盟军后勤部门，随着AI科技的普及和智能机器人的应用逐渐势微，其重要地位逐渐被研究院所取代，变得尴尬起来。
研究院及研究员：联盟军核心机密部门，负责尖端科技研发、实验，包含但不限于武器、生物、药物等。
翻译官：联盟军核心行政部门，由语言类超能力者组成，负责翻译、接待、陪同等工作，经常会被联盟军“租借”给联邦法院从事特别任务。值得一提的是，该类超能力者80%以上都是omega。
联邦检察院：联邦法院旗下的行政部门，承担了一部分警察的调查工作，有权对人类管辖区域内的任何人士提出诉讼，也是腐败行为发生的最严重的地方之一。
