Zarina's death was imminent. But instead of taking advantage, like she’d assumed, he approached with an almost cautious tentativeness. He hoisted the car, the giant thing groaning as it was raised. She fell off the wall as the pinning weight released her, her leg slagged to the floor, entirely broken and bloody. She winced at the movement, and watched as the Wraith lowered the car, knocking it off balance so it fell away, onto the other side of the wall.
He turned, and his giant form loomed over her. She felt a bit pathetic, wondering how sad she must look if even the killer took pity on her. He picked her up, and she winced at the motion, her leg sharply flinching in pain. She let him carry her though, struggling as he padded forward, and laid her down next to the gate.
