Summary
After the harrowing events of the Third Task of the Triwizard Tournament Harry Potter is struggling with going back to his abusive and neglectful family, especially when he begins to wake screaming from nightmares. After begging Dumbledore and getting nowhere he decides on the train back to London that if no-one else is going to look after him then he would just have to do it himself.
He dons his Invisibility Cloak and hides. He wouldn't tell anyone not even his friends. Not until he got away.
First Stop: Gringotts.Only he hadn't expected what that spur of the moment decision would unravel.

This is inspired by the Star Trek episode 'The Inner Light' where Picard lives a whole lifetime in one single moment after being hit with an energy beam. But besides the idea, there are no elements of that episode in this story.

Saraine Potter was left on a doorstep twelve years ago. Only it wasn't the Dursleys's. It was Luna Williams's Hallows Eve themed doormat in the middle of the night. The only reason Saraine was found was because of her wails causing Luna to wake up and discover almost all of her best friends were gone, imprisoned or dead.

Originally, Saraine thought it was because her godfather-Remus Lupin-was going to be a teacher there for the time being but now, everything seemed coincidental. Sirius Black and a load of other Death Eaters escape Azkaban, Harry's-the brother she's never met-scar is hurting and so it Saraine's and now, everything seems to be a trap in Saraine's eyes.
