My idea of the aftermath of Episode 9, "Theater of War." Depictions of torture as well as emotional turmoil and dramatic rescues. Good old fashioned whump, you're welcome.

Delloso de la Rue sacrifices the title of True in protection of the magic that flows to the mortal realm. K.P. Hob wallows and writhes in the doubt and distrust that follows for but a few moments, but it's enough to change the story irrevocably. It's enough to make the road to a happy ending winding and all too easy to lose track of, like all roads into Faerie must be. The new arrangement of the stars makes new constellations, and they all must learn to navigate by a new map.
(Or, I make Rue/Hob/Wuvvy/Sy the delicious mess it deserves to be.)

Knickolas has seen Rue before, though they have never been properly introduced. The slender, beautiful elf has always held themselves apart form the crowd. They were distant and unapproachable. Hob would have never dared to try to even speak to someone such as Delloso De La Rue - someone so far above him in every conceivable way. Now he is barreling forward in a carriage on his way to marry them.

If she had put Hob on his knees before her, fisted some of his hair in her left hand, and placed her blade at his throat, would she have killed him? She had wanted to, certainly. Would she have done something else?
“Captain Hob,” she says. “Will you invite me into your tent?”
His eyes catch hers and hold them, and Wuvvy realizes she has been something of a fool. Loath as she is to admit it, she and Hob are birds of a certain feather: if she could read him, he can certainly read her. They are beautiful eyes.

It is a small blessing that Wuvvy first coughs up flowers alone, in a bathroom at a party. She knows what this is—a fey curse disguised as a blessing, a religious ritual. Every young child receives blessings, of course—a tradition, a practice occuring for as long as fey have existed. Wuvvy was gifted obedience, and diligence, and of course the flowers of love.
