He informed everyone but me because he didn’t want me to get involved, thus showing me that he doesn’t trust my better judgment of the overall situation. Then, the fateful day arrived and I watched him fall to his death, I set his fake corpse on fire, and I was even blamed for being too late to save his life. We promised each other that we would live and die together, but I was left all alone. I would hasten my death, too."
Or Zhou Zishu's self-inflicted death acceleration is discovered few days before Gu Xiang's wedding. After so much prodding and interrogation, he finally explodes. This discovery, though, changes their fate entirely.

Insouciant man. “My body isn’t too old for many things,” he says, “or at least, none of the necessary ones that make life worth living.”
The laugh that escapes Xie’er’s mouth doesn’t even sound like it’s his. Who is he to laugh at another man’s mortality? Who has he become? Maybe the sleep really has addled his brains.

“Why don’t you fuck me sideways?” Xie Wang doesn’t even recognise the voice as his own. It goes on regardless, speaking with his tongue and shaping his lips. “Or is this prodigious appetite of yours limited entirely to food and nothing else?”

Zhou Zishu decides that Qingya Mountain was too dangerous of a place to tend to Wen Kexing’s wounds, so then deciding to bring him off to a nearby inn.

Everyone stared in shock, waiting for a punchline or another joke. However, Zishu was dead serious. His sword, Bai Yi, pointed directly at Xie Wang’s throat. “…and to drag you down with us.”

Summary
At that moment, Wen Kexing looked up, meeting Zhou Zishu’s eyes from across the hall.
A knowing smile crept on Wen Kexing’s face, going in for a bite at that pristine neck as he held his gaze.
Zhou Zishu looked away, swallowing around his suddenly dry throat.
He stood in place, looking straight at nothing at all for a while, before his body betrayed him and his eyes searched for the pair amongst the crowd again.
Sure enough, Wen Kexing kept his eyes on him all this time and another smile graced his lips when their eyes met again. Slowly, he moved his hand downwards, rubbing Xie-er’s lower back. Xie-er started to squirm and moved to say something, but Wen Kexing only gripped his waist with his other hand and, with his eyes still watching Zhou Zishu, he whispered right at Xie-er’s ear and grabbed a handful of the man’s ass.
A wanton flirt, Zhou Zishu reminded himself. Wen Kexing was through and through an asshole and a living prototype of filth.
