Frisk has done everything. They softened Sans, they made friends with the scary, intimidating Papyrus, and they managed not to die... much. But, in the end they weren't able to break the barrier. They should have been able to, but... it didn't work.
Years pass. Frisk looses their DETERMINATION and moves off to a house in the middle of the forest, somewhere inbetween the Ruins and Snowdin. With flowey. The monsters are back to their violent ways, only slightly nicer than before Frisk had arrived.
And then YOU fall down. Well, you don't fall exacly, and you didn't jump, but... well, that's a secret. Anyway, you fall down and meet monsters.
It doesn't take long before they find out that you aren't like Frisk. You are a badass, you trust nobody, and you can defend yourself j u s t. f u c k i n g f i n e.

“You could’ve just left me alone.” Jake breathes out, shaking his head, tears now flowing freely from his eyes.

Bradley stares at him with broken eyes, and opens his mouth to say something, but Jake holds up his finger. “You keep shutting me out,” Jake sighs, “This time you don’t get too.”
He grabs his door handle and yanks the door open, not before looking at Bradley one last time. “Just stay away from me.” Jake spits, climbing into his car, and driving away.

His nose wrinkled in confusion, glancing around to make sure he was alone and wondering if this was some kind of prank by Osamu, as unlikely as that would've been. It wasn't a phone call; while he didn't get many of them, he remembered what that screen looked like. After a few moments of staring, he decided to just click yes, knowing that at the very least the phone couldn't hurt him.
"Shi Yuuki."
He dropped it in surprise, the screen cracking as it hit the floor and he stumbled back into the sink, putting it between him and the phone, frightened. Why was the phone talking? Why. Was. The. Phone. Talking. H-had he accepted a call? It couldn't be, he checked before he pressed yes!
