2,000 miles away from his friends and everything he's ever known, Will Byers tries to make a life for himself in California. But he can't help but wonder if his friends miss him at all, especially Mike. Things have felt different with Mike lately, and Will’s not entirely sure why. It's just Will's luck that he happens to feel the way he does about his lifelong best friend who happens to be his new sister’s boyfriend. Joyce keeps telling him that California is all about a fresh start, but he doesn't want a fresh start. He wants things to go back to how they used to be.
