Brochan was never meant to go through hell and back without getting himself changed. His first time was never meant to meet him and left without marking his very soul. As he stumbled through adolescence, he did not know every experience would mold him, leaving marks that would teach him to embrace the pain.
Nobody was there to teach him how to heal, and nobody ever taught him he could be saved.
Perhaps, in the end, Brochan was never meant to be saved. Doomed from the start, he tried to survive in a world where it was kill or be killed.
And definitely Brochan was not going to be the one killed.

Obanai Iguro's been through this cycle too many times to count. Rehab, recovery (if you could actually call it that), relapse, repeat. He says he's fine - what teenager doesn't? - but fine doesn't look like vapourised water and empty stares. He shouldn't catch feelings for another disaster. Especially not for Sanemi.
