After a gravely wounded Iorveth is captured by Temerian forces, a local healer is given the task to keep him alive - at least until he can be transferred into army custody to be interrogated.
The young woman agrees, but she has ulterior motives. As Iorveth will soon find out, she has her own reasons to hate the Scoia'tael.
Still, being forced to endure each others company for days, a complicated relationship starts to develop between the two.
