Summary
An emphatically no longer young, nor starry eyed copywriter improbably lands in the world of "Assassin of Kings“. Almost in the lap of none other than Iorveth, creating a world of trouble for the fearsome commander.
The story begins not long before Geralt, Triss and Roche arrive near Flotsam. From then on, I plan to stick true to the in-game plot, at least the parts that the player sees. What happens behind the scenes is my personal twist.Please note that "The Witcher” belongs to CD Projekt Red and Andrzej Sapkowski. This is a fan work written purely for fun and appreciation of the characters.
Later edit: 30 chapters in and I have to admit that this current piece is, in fact, romance. Didn't plan it so, but the characters kind of ran away with it.

The only thing Geralt knows how to take care of and show affection to, that he loves, is Roach. Because of that when he finally accepts Jaskier as someone he loves and wants to show that he just mostly treats him like a horse to be affectionate. Even if its unintended.
Jaskier knows Geralt is just doing his best and he loves him for it.

Summary
The Witchers got sick of being treated like vermin and turned the tides. Now they live as royalty, pampered and entitled on their mountain and those who need their help pay a steep price for it.
This life has made them cruel and spoiled and several laws have been implemented where refusing a Witcher service or charging them for basically anything is a crime. They want revenge for how they were treated before.
Viscount Julian has been sent to their castle at Kaer Morhen to buy the aid of the Witchers, but what do you pay someone who already has more coin than they can spend?

“Sleepy puppy,” Maciej said with a crooked grin, bouncing on the balls of his feet, eyes gleaming steel-blue. He puckered his lips into a pout. “Was a good idea.”
Lambert raised an eyebrow, arms crossed. “What was a good idea, kid?”
Maciej’s grin twisted, almost feral. His form rippled—red-and-black fur flickered along his forearms, claws scraping the air just enough to make Lambert’s jaw tighten. His eyes flashed wild, like a cornered cat daring you.
“Stabbing three things today. Felt alive,” Maciej said, voice sharp and breathless, feeding off chaos. “Like chasing shadows. Like hunting.”
He leaned in, whispering, eyes glinting. “Monsters aren’t scary. Boredom is. It eats you inside.”
Lambert smirked, cautious. “You’re lucky I like crazy.”
Maciej’s grin stretched too wide, teeth flashing sharp. A short, wild laugh.
“Lucky me,” he said, voice low. “If I’m dying, it better be quick. Pretty. No whining.”
Lambert shook his head. “You’re unhinged, kid.”
Maciej’s eyes flicked—half-cat, half-boy. “Maybe. But boring? That’ll kill us all.” -

Despite this, Geralt has secretly wondered what would happen if he were to pluck a string with his own hand; his hand that has only ever graced the hilt of a weapon. But here the instrument sits before him, a darling and intricate product of humanity. The instrument has no other purpose but to illuminate the human condition, the sorrows, and the passion. When Jaskier plucks those strings and sings his songs, Geralt could almost convince himself he feels such things. Of course, he would never say such a thing aloud, especially not to Jaskier.
