A lonesome figure swinging his blade at the training grounds, the dim light of a candle visible under his door, a scream in the dead of the night—signs of varying subtlety pointing to the perils that nighttime brought upon him. Those whose lives were lost at the Tragedy of Duscur maintained a tight grasp on him, and would continue to do so for as long as he lived.
Perhaps it was expected of Felix to be equally haunted by the past. However, what plagued his sleep was an entirely different scenario—visions so vivid, he could almost swear he had actually lived through them.

Perhaps he should admit to knowing what it feels to have his head swiped clean from his shoulders. The mere thought summons some surge of discomfort that forces his eyes shut, a veil of white static clouding a memory he isn’t sure is real.
“I’ve died many times, haven’t I?”
“Felix,” the professor says. “You’re not weaker for needing to be saved.”
That’s not the point, but it is.

And before Felix could finish, and to his absolute horror, Sylvain reached forward and pinched Felix’s cheeks, feeling soft flesh give under his calloused fingers. Felix yanked backwards, the touch sending sparks through his skin and causing heat to rise in his stomach, which now felt heavier than ever.

Summary
As a child, Felix knows that he is destined to walk at Dimitri's right hand forever, no matter where it may take them. Then the Tragedy happens – Dimitri comes back different, and Glenn doesn't come back at all – and it throws everything Felix knows into disarray. It takes a couple lives, but he figures it out, eventually.
Or: Felix and Dimitri splinter apart, stitch themselves back together in the face of death, and only then, finally, can they begin to grow.

Summary
Lee Felix is High Fae, but no one else can know. Humans don't exactly take very well to supernatural creatures, as Felix had to learn the hard way, many times. So he wraps himself tightly in glamour to protect himself from the harshness of the human world.
Somehow, his landlord figures it out anyway, and Felix is left practically homeless. At least, until a group of seven other boys find him and welcome him into their home, and he learns what true friendship and brotherhood is.
