A story in which it's the year 1719 and the crown prince of Korea, Park Seonghwa gets kidnapped as a bargaining chip by a notorious pirate captain named Kim Hongjoong in order to prevent a war between Korea and the pirate's of the sea.
However, not all that long after the pirate captain's ship goes down after an attack from another pirate crew.
Although fortunately for them the ship went down close by to a deserted island but now they were left stranded.
During this time of being castaways an understanding starts to form between both Seonghwa and Hongjoong and slowly so does feelings.
But not only that so does a mysterious doppelganger curse with an unknown origin.

A shimmering distortion in the center of his room flickered to life, swirling like liquid glass. A circular rift cracked open midair, glowing faintly gold and violet. Yeosang stood up so fast he knocked his chair back.

Yeosang stood there, absolutely mortified as the practice room fell into a mix of gasps and barely-suppressed laughter. His hands were still pressed to his face when he slowly peeked through his fingers to glare at San.
“You made out with him? In front of everyone?!”
San raised both hands defensively, his ears tinged red. “Okay—first of all—he kissed me! I was just… caught off guard and I—look, it was confusing, okay?!”
