Steve gritted his teeth and began pulling the body off onto the shoulder, nesting it in the curve of one of the snowbanks. There was a dark streak on the road, showing where the thing had originally landed. Steve didn’t turn on the flashlight. He just fought to take another breath and nudged the legs into a more natural position, draped his jacket over the head so he didn’t have to see its shattered antlers and dead eyes anymore.
This was his fault.

Summary
Steven is raised more in touch with his human self. The timeline diverges at Three Gems and a Baby, where the gems and Greg decide to try and give Steven a normal upbringing.
Steven knows almost nothing about the gems, even less than he does at the beginning of the series. But as he grows, his powers begin to activate forcing him into a life that his caretakers tried so hard to keep him out of for as long as they could.
